What are people saying about mexican restaurants near Chicago, IL?
"We've been going here for ages so I don't know why I haven't written a review. It's very tasty and fresh and an excellent value. We especially love the avocado salsa and the steak burritos. Because they make it to order, it can be a bit of a wait - even ordering in advance, but it is worth it if you're not in a rush. They now offer a lunch special of 3 tacos (they can be different) with rice and beans for $12. It's plenty of food! The interior is order at the counter and be seated, but eating in means you can partake in the many salsas bar. Definitely a regular in our rotation."

What are people saying about mexican restaurants near Belleville, IL?
"This is my serving time visiting Casa Maria Mexican Grill, and it was just as amazing as the first time. I tried The Hangover Helper Burrito, and it was great! Reminded me of back in Arizona with the authentic Mexican food and a particular burrito known as the "California Burrito". The service is always extremely fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is a bit cozy for how popular this place is. And mind you, this was on a Tuesday Still highly recommended, and I'll be back again"

I'm going to Chicago next month and I look forward to trying its highly regarded Mexican food. I would appreciate some suggestions of your personal favorites. I googled and looked at old threads on here, but would still like to hear some fresh suggestions.
I'm less interested in Mexico City/Puebla street food, since we have that in spades here in New York. I'm seeking homestyle dishes, mariscos, and regional cuisine in general. I'm fine with anything from hole in the wall to semi-fancy.
I'll be staying in River North which I'm aware is not the ideal neighborhood for this kind of thing, but I'm happy to travel within a reasonable distance by public transit.
