I want to start using Michaels for printing photos because the prices look great, even for metal prints.
I have called all over the place and looked everywhere online but there doesn’t seem to be any information to contact the lab directly and also no information about what printers Michaels is using. Also no information about what printer profile to use when saving my files in Adobe.
Does anyone happen to know any or all of these
What printer profiles I should use for paper prints and metal prints?
What kind of printers Michaels is using?
Direct contact info for the lab?

The prints are from a company called Artistree in either Texas or NC depending on your store location. We don’t print anything inside the store so we dont have access to all the specs of the printer they use (at least I don’t think we do) The files should be hi res jpegs, not screenshots or images saved from Facebook or something. I don’t know what printer profile means. I’m sure the michaels customer care phone # can give you contact info for Artistree.

The only prints that I actually liked the outcome of printing from Michael’s was the value canvas prints, white wooden prints and the gloss metal prints (by far my favorite) as far as specialty surfaces are concerned. Paper prints were also really good. As for the other surfaces, the matte finishes on wood and metal just wash out the picture. The acrylic always comes out grainy…even the sample shows you the pixelization of the image and transfer. The glass print is slightly better, but the edges of the glass can sometimes be sharp, so I don’t advise this print option. The heavy duty canvas comes out dull looking, seems the ink from the print gets absorbed by the canvas giving that dull look. At the end of the day you should be able to get a refund for any print that you are not satisfied with the quality of.
