Hey everyone. I’m looking for a Michelin selected or one star restaurant to enjoy while I am in Amsterdam for work for a week.
Lunch or dinner

Hi everyone. Heading to central Amsterdam for my husband's Birthday and looking for a lovely tasting menu. I would welcome recommendations for up and coming restaurants that don't necessarily have a star yet too. Thanks in advance!
Any thought on the changes or restaurants that you think were overlooked?

No new *** star

10 new *:
Showw (Amsterdam)
Zenith (Apeldoorn)
Demain (Cadzand)
Joann (Enschede)
Sabero (Leende), new concept and location, used to be 2**

Odille (Sint-Oedenrode)

AIRrepublic (Cadzand, closed)
De Rozario (Helmond)
Brienen aan de Maas (Well), announced that restaurant will be sold, new concept
The Duchess (Amsterdam)
I was surprised that Julemont lost both stars but apparently Guido Braeken left for another hotel restaurant in the area which has not opened yet.
We mostly dined at the restaurants in Limburg last year and I wasn't surprised to see Rantree loose it's star. Dined there a few months ago and I think the restaurant space is nice but food wise it was the weakest of the one star restaurants in the region and I would actually prefer many of the lower priced non-starred options in the region over it (Novo, Enigma, Prix de Rome, L'Echappée Belle, Vanille, Etalage, G7).
The Duchess losing its star is not completely surprising to me. Only visited once but while the taste of the food was good and the location is great, the presentation and refinement were less than what I would expect at a Michelin starred restaurant.
I did expect Brut172 to get a third star. We dined there earlier this year and preferred it over the 3 star restaurants we dined at so far. The food was fantastic (on a 10 point scale I would say no course scored lower than 9 for us). The location is beautiful and the service was absolutely flawless. Both alcoholic and non-alocohlic pairing were great and the sommelier super enthusiastic.
Would also have bet money on De Leuf getting a second star. Probably the best one-star we dined at so far and their langoustine with puffed rice, roe, and vandouvan-sauce was one of my favourite dishes of this year. Their drink pairings and non-alcoholic options are also fantastic.
Update: Thanks everyone! I ended up going with De Juwelier because they had the option to sit at the chefs table while I eat. That way I can watch all the cooking and not feel like I’m taking up a 2 person table.
Crossing a few things off my bucket list at once in Amsterdam - a solo international trip and dining at a michelin star restaurant. Any advice on which one would be the best to enjoy alone?
My best friend and I are taking a trip to Amsterdam in June. She has always wanted to go to a Michelin-starred restaurant, and for her birthday I’d like to surprise her with a dinner at one. I can afford the one star restaurants. She likes all kind of food (as do I). She is super artistic so I was looking into Graphite, but I am a little nervous about how loud it is (just based on what I’ve been reading about its “club vibes”).
Neither of us have ever been to Amsterdam. Any recommendations??
Heading to Amsterdam in about 6 months and I’m trying to decide between a few restaurants. I’m looking for Dutch cuisine or interpretations of Dutch cuisine, but definitely not looking for a French restaurant or other cuisine.
I’ve been looking at De Kas and Wils, but would love any recommendations, or even potentially a restaurant doing a tasting menu that doesn’t have a star, I have heard of Breda for example.
I am considering doing Wils Bakery cafe instead of the restaurant.
Any other recommendations would also be welcome. Thanks so much
Hi all! Need some help with a recommendation for Amsterdam. Looking for a two star restaurant (but will consider one star as well) that also has a great view. It will be my husband and my first trip to Amsterdam and we have one night to do a dinner. While I’m sure most places are delicious, would love to have an amazing view or something special and/or different than just a basic restaurant. Thanks in advance for your help.
My wife and I will be traveling to Amsterdam in the coming months and I would love to take her to a Michelin restaurant experience, however, I want to make sure the experience is worthwhile given her diet. She has a shellfish allergy, and primarily only eats chicken and Turkey, with little exposure to pork and beef.
I am looking for any restaurant suggestions that would be a good fit. Thanks in advance!
I'd give Ron gastrobar a look (the one near vondelpark). I've been a few times when visiting. It's pretty unique among Michelin star restaurants in that it's more tapas in approach, so you pick the small dishes you want. Should make it easier to avoid items with allergy sensitivities.
Just make sure you get the ribs...
De Kas. I was only served one dish with shellfish. You can definitely have it subbed. They do a vegan tasting as well if that’s something you are into. The restaurant is super cool as well. In an old greenhouse that they still grow in. Just tell them about the allergy when making the reservation.
Husband and I are honeymooning in Amsterdam and Paris at the end of the year and are looking for some feedback on the following restaurants we have booked.
Amsterdam:
-Graphite -Flore -Ciel Bleu -Bougainville
Paris:
-Allèno -Aprège
Would love to hear your experience if you've dined at one of the above restaurants.
Hi all, seeing that restaurants are reopening again and I would like to take my boyfriend out for a date in a Michelin starred restaurant. Well I have never experienced one in my life therefore I am open to and I would like to hear if you have recommendations! Preferably in the Randstad area, and one with very nice vibe! Thanks !!! Edit: the restaurants are not reopening yet, correction!
Taking my parents in may 14-21 to see Foals at AFAS Live if all goes well, fingers crossed, and would like to know generally what resto is considered the "best" , price around 200 euros a head, so looking at a total of 6-800 Inc wine. Id love a place in an art noveau setting, if there is one. Preferrably french/dutch. No vegetarian. Was looking at The Duchesse? Michelin stars would be Nice. We are saying next to the rijks museum
I am looking for a cozy place to get out for my girlfriend’s birthday. I have heard about top tier restaurants like ciel bleu, graphite, 212 etc. but the food there is just not for us, and some of them are way too expensive.
Hi there. My wife and I are traveling to Amsterdam and have dinner reservations at Flore, Graphite, and Chefs Table at DeJuelier. With a lunch at De Kas.
Any suggestions, inside tips, buyer beware, recommendations or potential changes?
Hey guys!
I am surprising my bf with a short trip to Amsterdam in April. I have been through the wiki and noted down everything I need to including which coffee shops to go to/museums/bike rental/neighbourhoods etc. BUT seeing as we are only there for three days I would love to know your top 3 restaurants in Amsterdam - regardless of price or cuisine. Just your top three.
And maybe your favourite michelin star restaurant (if any). Just so I can narrow down which restaurants we should visit. We are big foodies so this is an important part of our trip! Thanks so much!
EDIT: Thanks so much guys! This has made our decisions on where to eat a lot easier!
I would recommend having Indonesian food at least one day. I'm personally a fan of Kantjil but there are many other good Indonesian restaurants.
As for star restaurants, I have no experience there so I can't recommend any but do keep in mind that they may have waiting lists. Be sure to call in advance and make a reservation.
Also, if you haven't fixed the date yet, be sure to include King's Day (April 27th) in your trip. You'll need to book a hotel well in advance though.
Yamazato, in the Amsterdam’s Okura Hotel has a Michelin star, I go there regularly and I can recommend if you like japanese food.
Dynasty in the Reguliersdwarsstraat is a Chinese restaurant with a star, also one of my favorites.
If you like European food more there is Hoofdstad in the Nieuwe Doelenstraat, or Bord'Eau in the Nieuwe Doelenstraat.
My husband and I are planning to go to a 2-star Michelin restaurant in Amsterdam for our anniversary. Of course, this is a special occasion and we definitely don't have very high income but we also want to try this for the experience at least once. We will be paying about 100-125 euro per person for a 6-course menu. Is it expected of us to also tip? And if yes, how do you usually tip here in the Netherlands? I haven't used cash in years and I always pay with my debit card.
Edit: it's actually a 1-star Michelin restaurant, got it recommended by my colleagues.
