Wasn’t sure if this needed to be flaired as question or as streaming tech. I would like to start using a wireless mic with my streams and need the mic receiver that goes into the phone to both work with a phone case as well as have pass through charging. I’ve seen a few reviews on random mics that say it doesn’t work with their phone case on and the way I stream, my phone case has a magnet attached that I then stick my phone on random shelves for what I’m specifically doing - so no case isn’t an option.

I have a smaller budget, but am also the kind of person willing to save for something nicer if I am just going to be frustrated with something cheap. I will be using it for about 2-4 hours at a time, but my phone typically doesn’t last that long so I tend to have to start charging around the 1.5 hour mark.

I stream on twitch and I have seen a few things mention that some mics only work within specific camera apps, so I also want to make sure that it works with twitch as well as just my regular camera app for if I make videos (or is the app reasonable?)

Has anyone had any luck using an external microphone setup with an iPhone for phone calls or Teams? I need a wireless Lavalier mic for a presentation.

I have tried 6 different brands and several different iPhones. The units I have range from $40 to $300.

The external mics all work perfectly for voice memos or video recording. But any type of streaming/teams or phone calls seems to not work at ALL - very frustrating.

I have tried dedicated lightning port ones as well as TRRS to lightning versions. All have the same results.

Any thoughts? There HAS to be something I’m missing.

For clarification, I don’t need to worry about return Audio or hearing the other people on Teams. I just want them to be able to tap into the feed and see and hear my presentation. I also like the microphone to be clipped on to shirt.
