r/microsoft365 on Reddit: How does Microsoft 365 Apps admin center work?
September 25, 2024 -
Hello. I am confused about what the admin center actually does. I have created a deployment configuration which should install the latest current channel x64 office suite. The problem is, that it doesn't seem to take any effect on devices which are listed in the inventory. Another thing is, how do I add a new device to the inventory? I have a new laptop which I enrolled to intune a couple days ago, it still has not appeared. I did not manually install 365 on it, hoping it would get installed via the admin center config.
Any help is appreciated.

It doesn’t work that way. First of all, do you have the necessary licenses for Intune. Any device management, app or policy deployment to devices is to be done in Intune not the admin center If your enrolment is successful (entra-joined), you should see the device under your user account in Entra
