Just wondering if you can Azure AD Join laptops if the user has M365 Business Standard license? Or does it require Business Premium?
Hello Jefferyac,
Yes, it includes Azure AD, for Microsoft 365 for Business provides Office 365 Business account which belongs to Azure AD identity. It’s mainly for user identities management, in the meantime provides other features. Level described under Office 365 App column in Azure AD pricing page you posted. Microsoft 365 E3, E5 F3(Formerly Microsoft 365 F1 ) are Microsoft 365 Enterprise plans: Transform your enterprise with Microsoft 365. Office 365 E1 E3, E5 are Office 365 Enterprise plans: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/compare-more-office-365-for-business-plans
Microsoft 365 enterprise plans provide more features when comparing with same plans in Office 365, for example, here’s a comparison between Microsoft 365 E3 and Office 365 E3: Compare Office 365 to Microsoft 365.
Both Microsoft 365 Business /Enterprise plans and Office 365 Business/ Enterprise plans include Azure AD.
Yes that includes Microsoft 365 plans: Microsoft 365 and Office 365 platform service description.

I have a client with 3 users who are moving to Microsoft 365 Business Standard and I wondered does this include AzureAD so they can login to desktops using Microsoft account so it can be reset if required? Or can they do this without AzureAD?
I know theres the Business Premium package with Azure AD P1 but not sure we require Intune and the other features just yet.
Hi, I'm unable to find a definitive answer about this.
I just want Azure AD for Azure AD Connect and password pass-through+SSO to M365 services.
Do Business Basic licenses allow this ?
Hi Fabian,
Greetings.
Thank you for raising your concern in this community.
From what I know, without having the AAD P1 license, you should be using the 1:5 ratio billing model, and seeing that M365 Business standard has a limited number of users, from what I know the there is no pricing for the guess access.
However, I haven't found an official article to share with you regarding the topic.
Normally it is recommended to upgrade to AAD P1 or P2 to fully benefit from this feature.
Please feel free to let me know if you need further information from my side.
Kind regards,
Mac
Hi Fabian,
Is there anything else I can do to help?
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I am rolling out a new environment that will only have azure active directory.
What really in practical benefits is Business Premium giving me over Business Standard? I am not planning on using Defender. I do need to control what the users install on their computers, but I dont need to push out drive maps, etc…
Thank you
Comparison is at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/compare-all-microsoft-365-business-products
If you want any management of the endpoints, you need Intune, which pushes you to Premium. If you want Conditional Access (which everyone should, IMHO), then that pushes you to Premium, or at least Azure AD P1 add-on. Premium includes Defender for Office 365, so even if you don’t want to use Defender on the endpoint, what are you planning to do to protect email and documents?
Premium also includes Azure Rights Management, so you can control which documents can be forwarded, read, printed, etc.
Hello Spiceheads!
Users are setup with 365 Business Standard licenses
On a Windows 10 or 11 computer, can they sign in with their 365 email address and password?
or does that require azure active directory license for the user and a AAD joined computer?
Intune is not required, and it would be nice to have a user have the same email address and password to sign into the computer and have their configuration and settings follow them from computer to computer
Thank you!
This does require the computer to be AAD-joined. If your computers are already joined to and managed by on-premise domain, you will probably want to leave it that way unless you have some other reason to make the switch.
Comparing Microsoft 365 Business Standard vs. Premium, the main difference is Standard does not include Azure AD, Intune, Azure MFA, and a few other things. Does this mean that a user licensed with Standard cannot join their PC to Azure AD at all? Can a Standard user not enable MFA on their account? What exactly are the limitations here?
We are trying to decide which version of 365 to go with, either Premium or Standard. If we are using our own AV solution (BD or CS), what are we losing out on with sticking to Business Standard? (We do want to use Azure AD for users and for an admin account)
