r/AZURE on Reddit: Azure included with Microsoft Business Premium? Logging in but no subscription active?
December 5, 2024 -

Sorry for the wildly basic question. We use M365 for business. I upgraded to Premium as i thought this included an Azure subscription however when i log into azure it wont allow me to create any resources, it just keeps showing me subscription options.

Annoyingly, when i try to subscribe via Azure (which i tried before upgrading M365) it wouldnt accept my phone number OR allow me to register via card verification.

Any help would be appreciated. I am logging into the Azure portal with my M365 acc that has the Premium licence activated on btw.

Sorry, but I think you have misunderstood what Azure is Firstly, M365 Premium [or business or standard] are M365 license based subscriptions. These you pay a certain amount of money every month. The license can be 25$ per license and you would pay nothing more than that, even if you use it or not in a month. And they do not give you "Azure". M365 Premium gives you Entra ID p1 [i think] which again is another license based subscription. To create Azure resources[such as VM, VNets etc], you need Azure Subscription which is not included in any of the license based subscriptions. Azure Subscription is a Pay as you go subscription, where you pay for only what you use. Example, if you create a VM of certain specs within a subscription, you pay for that specs only, and according to how much you use it. If you use it for 2 hours, you only pay for 2 hours. If you stop it, then you don't pay for VM, but you pay for storage etc. Also, are you trying to get a Free Azure subscription which gives 200 USD credits? If it is failing, it is likely you may have used the credit card and/or phone number before to get this offer. You may have to go for Pay As You Go offer [which does not give you ANY credits] and charges you from the get go. Of course subscription is free. You are only charged when you start creating resources in the subscription.

it would have been nice. Im paying £70 a month for a VM, 2 databases and a few bits n bobs like DNS on azure. If I could get office 365 for x users and it included say up to £100 Azure credits, id buy it instantly.
