Yep, they used this as a way to ask more money for their Enterprise licensing in EU. You've got to add "Microsoft Teams EEA" seperately for 5 euros msrp. They could've done the same as they did with the Business licences and just add an extra licence that is cheaper, but they didn't. They removed the old one. "First, beginning October 1, 2023, we will unbundle Teams from our Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites in the EEA and Switzerland. We will instead simply sell these offerings without Teams at a lower price (€2 less per month or €24 per year). We will do this for our core enterprise customers, which represent most of our commercial business in the EEA and Switzerland. Teams will still be available for new enterprise customers to buy standalone and separately at a list price of €5 per month or €60 per year. Existing enterprise customers who already have a suite with Teams can choose to stay with their current productivity suite or to move to a without-Teams suite. For our small business and frontline workers, we will keep offering suites with Teams but will at the same time offer a “without-Teams” option, and this latter version will be offered at a lower price. I just want to make sure I’m understanding this correctly, as there seems to be a bit of confusion in my department about Teams licensing change MS revealed on April 1st (the worst possible day, lol)
Teams will no longer be bundled into E3 and E5 licences. It will be about $5/month extra.
Those with existing agreements/subscriptions are grandfathered in, so anyone with a current E3 sku will keep Teams.
Anyone with an existing agreement/subscription will continue to be able to purchase E3/E5 licenses with Teams
The announced licensing change will only affect new subscribers.
F3 licenses will continue to have Teams as part of the subscription.
Is this correct?
Bonus question: Does anyone know if the product ID will remain the same for current subscribers? I have a dynamic licensing group that depends on the E3 product ID.

From what I understand, the E3 and E5 without Teams is slightly cheaper. So adding Teams back in brings it to a similar, if not the same price. For the bonus question, F3 also comes in a "no teams" flavour. Yes, existing subscriptions will contain Teams as part of the licence. As long as they are maintained on the renewals, this won't change. Cheers

Greetings all! I've been chatting with a person who works at a company with approx 40 users. At first they purchased M365 Business Standard licenses - then they switched all the users to Office 365 E3 as they thought it was required for an Accounting application - it wasn't.
So I feel that they will do better with M365 Business Premium as a good fit with SMB's - yes that will reduce that mailbox size from 100GB to 50GB but they're all well below 50GB and have archiving turned on.
Did a lot of research...comparing the features...also had a look here - mind you dated July 2023: https://m365maps.com/matrix.htm#010001000000000000000
Now the costs are comparable....as purchased those O365 E3 licenses before those recent license changes.
So I'm trying to point out the advantages of switching to M365 Business Premium.
My understanding is that M365 BP provides advanced security features and better device/app management and provides for a less complex environment to support. Thinking of their needs also on that side as their current IT folks are new to M365 (no comment!) ;-) ....so I am not always available to assist.
M365 Business Premium will also provide their Compliance and Governance needs when they're ready to go there.
Am I missing something here? Any there any other pro's associated with that M365 Business Premium subscription vs O365 E3?

My understanding is that M365 BP provides advanced security features and better device/app management and provides for a less complex environment to support. This is the big draw and understatement. M365 Business Premium includes the main services in O365 E3, plus gives you a slew of identity (ENTRA ID P1), security (DEFENDER), and protection (PURVIEW) features. The other big draw is that M365 BP comes with Intune, a full cloud-based device management tool set that can manage both workstations and mobile devices. There's a TON more in the M365 BP plan (very analogous to M365 E3 in several ways) - but as pointed out, all the M365 Business plans can only be purchased for 300 users or less.
