Sometimes and in the real world, yes, it helped me 1 month ago to get a job. But, maybe not in reddit bubble. I have less than 1,5 yoe and the company who hired me had one data analyst that leave for another company and they use tableau and oracle database. They are migrating to the azure/powerbi and the people who work in the company does not know much about azure. They pay a consulting company to help them to migrate to Fabric, yes, fabric. They needed a person who are INTERESTED in learn and help them, so, when i told i have DP-900 the manager asked for the cert (maybe to show the above manager). It of course demonstrated my interested in cloud and combined with my experience with power bi, totally worth it. If you are trying to enter in a consultant company, or a high tech company, maybe is not sufficient, otherwise, if you are trying to enter in the real job market, is a nice cert to have. My learning strategy was simply to complete the learning modules on the Microsoft Learn portal. Nevertheless, I sweated over some questions because the topics were very broad. On one hand, you had to master data concepts theoretically; on the other hand, you also had to associate them with the appropriate Azure services. However, practical experience cannot be overlooked here, since there is no compression algorithm for experience — you still have to get your hands dirty.

I never thought that I will take the certification exam for DP 900 and never felt a need for the same for the last 18-20 years in my data architecture/engineering career. But of late, the data engineering/data architect job has become so competitive that you need some certifications to show that you are worthy of job especially since AI has made it very easy to cut/paste and show advanced skills on your profile. At least , that is what I have felt in the last 6 months. So, I decided to take DP-900 certification exam to enhance my portfolio. I cleared DP 900 exam with a high score. I prepared for 2 weeks and during that time I couldn't find good/authentic source of questions/material/guide for this Exam other than Microsoft official website. The topics covered are as below:
- Introduction to Microsoft Azure Data core data concepts
- Introduction to Microsoft Azure Data relational data in Azure
- Introduction to Microsoft Azure Data non-relational data in Azure

Definitely a massive YES, any qualification is good. Lots of people still don't take the jump to study or take exams so even if it's a fundamentals course it can stand you out from the crowd.
