Some admins are unable to view or manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 data in the Microsoft Defender 365 Portal DZ605500, Last updated: 24 June 2023 at 17:02 EEST Title: Some admins are unable to view or manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 data in the Microsoft Defender 365 Portal User impact: Admins are unable to view or manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 data in the Microsoft Defender 365 Portal. Current status: We've identified that an unexpected misconfiguration within the authentication component is causing admins to be unable to view or manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 data. We've developed and validated a fix to correct the authentication issue. We're now in the process of deploying the fix and expect to be able to provide a completion timeline by the time of our next communications update. Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and some admins attempting to view or manage their data in Microsoft Defender for Office 365 are impacted. This is a real Microsoft product, but also a sign of Microsoft's terrible inability to choose new names. Microsoft Defender (previously named Windows Defender) is the anti-virus built into Windows and managed through the security center. Microsoft Defender 365 is the enterprise security software and is cloud managed by IT. Microsoft Defender for individuals is basically a management interface (like MD 365) but for individuals with personal Microsoft 365 (previously Office 365) accounts. This is what you see here and why it is asking for a login (to prove your 365 subscription). Since you've got the connector running, you just need to configure the policies in endpoint manager. The connector handles the onboarding package now. Once you configure the av/edr/compliance settings and they sync to the device you should be set for any device managed by intune. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/advanced-threat-protection-configure Be sure to run the detection test once you think you've got it dialed in. I am also unable to get into security.microsoft.com/threatexplorer - Threat Explorer - I'm getting error 403. Portal's Email & collaboration part of the menu only has Review, Exchange message trace and Policies & Rules. Quarantine does work, but can't access email details there either...
