Microsoft word dictate better than Dragon Naturally Speaking?
I think Ms Word dictate is similar to the Dictation Bar if Win10 (Press Win+H to activate), but I haven't used it. If so, it should have good accuracy with no training, but relies on Internet connection, cannot be trained to improve accuracy, and cannot be used to control the computer. Personally, I've found Windows Speech Recognition to be very good in terms of accuracy, trainability and ok for editing and computer control too. Once I put together a library of macros --- WSR became very, very useful. I now get 90%-95% of my work done hands free. I've seen several devout Dragon users criticize WSR, but not sure why. Also seen some YouTube which compares the two, but seemed sponsored and their "results" were very different from my real-world daily usage experience. I've found Dragon slightly more accurate, especially with people with non-articulate accents. That said, Dragon is slower, which for 20 minutes use is a non-issue, but for hours daily usage is a disadvantage, and it takes more memory and processing power leaving less for the apps I'm actually trying to control... Once trained, WSR understands me very well. I'm using the cheap microphone that came with my cellphone, works fast, and WSR is free... so you can always test it and shift to Dragon if you want. Windows 11 dictation is the best I ever used
I don't know if this will actually work but try out SwiftKey keyboard for Android. It's owned by Microsoft, have a look and see if the speech-to-text is provided by Microsoft or if it's just piggybacking on Android's built in service. More on reddit.com
