Hey, don't get down about your skills thinking it's not enough. These roles you're looking for don't need some macro wiz, or pivot table genius to work them. If you have any experience with word/excel then great, you already tick the box. Anything you need to know once you are there is just a Google away. I frequently recheck the syntax for certain excel formulae (like arrays) If you don't, do you have any experience with googled versions? Docs and sheets. Or apples versions? Pages or numbers. If it’s free, go for it. You’ll probably learn something new. But when reviewing resumes it’s not a certification that employers are looking for. Sometimes people will add pivot tables or vlookup to their resume next to Excel rather than just saying “excel” and that’s sometimes worth something. If you know VBA/Macros that would definitely put you into a more advanced category and would be worth adding to a resume. More on reddit.com

Really depends. In my experience you can just write expert in Excel on your resume and people will believe it. I've seen people write intermediate or expert on their resume and then I watched them and they didn't know how to do things I was learning in grade 4... In short, I don't see the benefit for the cost; I have thought about it though. More on reddit.com
