When I buy standalone Office 2024 for one PC, it comes with a lifetime/perpetual license. But then Microsoft says that they're going to drop support for that product in 5 years. Do I understand that correctly?
In other words, when they call it a "lifetime" license, they don't mean *my* lifetime, they mean the product's lifetime. (Of course. Duh.) Which is defined as five years.
Technically, I can *run* the software forever, but Microsoft's gonna kill it by pulling all security support. So ... now I get it. Not complaining. Just being clear.
So *now* when I compare standalone vs 365 ... they're *both* subscriptions. $150 for 3 years using Home standalone. Or $300 for 3 years for Personal 365.
Right?
All I want is a one time payment. I just want the apps. I don't want to deal with expensive subscriptions.
I don't care about updates, unlimited one drive storage or anything else.
All I want is the exact same experience from my MS XP Word, Excel and PP apps that were bought once and always available for use. No subscription!
Sorry if this is the wrong community.
I am trying to use Microsoft Office (mainly Word, Excel, Outlook) on my personal computer, not for production purposes. I do not want to pay hundreds of dollars for a license.
I've purchased a Microsoft Office Home & Business for Mac 2021: Lifetime License from FatKidDeals (an Amazon affiliate) for my Macbook for $29.99. I assume this is a reputable site and the license is legal. However, they do not have the deal available for Windows.
I've seen lifetime license deals on sites like CDKeys and ProductKeys. Are these legal? Are they worth the risk?
Is there any other way to obtain an affordable lifetime license for Windows? I'm open to family packs for 1-5 devices as well since I have multiple devices in my home.
As per the title^ I'm shopping for a laptop on Amazon for school and saw something I've never seen before. I have Microsoft 365 and pay a monthly subscription and never knew there was such a thing as a lifetime license just for Microsoft office:V... is that offer on the table for this laptop i have my eyes on legit at all? Will i still get the same benefits if i use the Microsoft lifetime license offer that comes with the laptop like my Microsoft 365? Or should I just stick with my monthly subscription of Microsoft 365. The laptop fits everything I need as a student so it's very tempting to get. https://a.co/d/bZ3i1CV if anyone wants the link here it is.
I usually use LibreOffice because it's free and Office licenses are typically very expensive. Also, I refuse to move to a subscription model for office apps.
But I saw this deal today: https://stacksocial.com/sales/microsoft-office-professional-plus-2021-for-windows
$49 for a lifetime license for the Office 2021 suite. What's the catch? It seems too good to be true.
I am NOT associated with Stacksocial or Microsoft. This is not an ad. I just want to know if this deal is legit.
Hi folks! First time poster here. I have seen now two articles advertising $50 and $40 for a lifetime purchase for MS office including Word, Excel, PP, Outlook, Teams, and OneNote for PC or Mac (one computer per purchase). This seems way too good to be true but they seem to be from legit sites (New York Post store & StackSocial) and have a lot of reviews. But I’m just so skeptical it’s real that I wanted to at least try and check into it. Has anyone bought this, or does anyone know how “legit” it is? Thank you in advance to anyone who responds, I appreciate it!
I need Word, Excel, and Powerpoint for my personal computer. I don't want to do a subscription.
I see Microsoft sells "Office Home & Student 2021" for $150. Costco seems to sell the same for $150 but they also throw in a $25 e-gift card.
There are a million websites selling keys to Office for like $20 but I think they are all grey market and shady/potentially illegal.
Is there anything in between? I'd be happy with an older version of Office. It's something I use very irregularly so I feel silly blowing too much money on it. But I don't want to get anything shady. Thank you for your advice!
I currently have 365 as a student (non US), and though I expect to have 365 for at least another year and probably more, I was wondering if it might be useful to have a lifetime license considering it's on sale here: https://stacksocial.com/sales/microsoft-office-professional-plus-2021-for-windows
It seems like a pretty good deal (US$50), but still I don't know if it's entirely worth it. Suggestions?

My sister uses Word and Excel for her freelance work, and really doesn't need any of the 365 features.
She has an old ass laptop that she doesn't want to throw away because she's got Office there. So I thought about buying this for her. It seems too cheap to be good, though, so what's the catch?
It's offered through Gamespot, so I suppose they won't risk it selling piracy.
Thanks!
I am trying to purchase office 365 for my personal use, while searching I came across several office 365 product costs between 200 to 700 Rs for lifetime subscription but with a condition that I cannot use my mail id for subscription. Are they legitimate?
Will they support future updates?
I got all the pdf instructions, somehow when I install it get me the error that it can't install because certain software , i got rid of all office and 365 with revo unistaller, so know its blank.
help.
I have MS office 2016 pro which was working fine until I needed to reinstall Windows (and Office) and now the activation Key I purchased (from Amazon) won't work. I've contacted MS who have tried to help me, but the key I have just keeps expiring. I found a temporary key that is a per-use activation code, but that's very annoying - to have to activate Office every time I use it.
So I was thinking of Upgrading to MS Office 2021 pro. Again, purchasing a Key online. My question is, is there a Key / Licence Number that a company can provide me that will activate my version of Office indefinitley, even if I need to reinstall Windows, or Office again? If anyone knows of a legitimate site that could sell me such a key, for MS office 2021 pro, I'm willing to pay for it. I don't need the ever-evolving MS Office 365. I just don't use it enough. I just want a fairly recent version of Office that is stand-alone. Even if support has ended for it.
I've seen the product+key for around $30-$40, but I don't know how legitimate these sites are - I just don't want it to be a one-off thing. where if it crashes I need to buy another licence. I mainly use Outlook just for personal email, and occasionally WORD. It's "nice" to have the other programs, but they're not essential.
I'm a private, single PC user.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
It's a legit offer, but... it's just a single PC license.
Lifetime license for MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, Publisher, & Access
One-time purchase installed on 1 Windows PC for use at home or work
To find the offer, go to the boingboing store and scroll down until you see the offer.
i purchased 365 pro plus lifetime from this website:

tyia.
I'm seeing a lot of websites offering Microsoft Office Home & Business for Mac 2021: Lifetime License for a one-time fee of $35 - $45. No subscription. Are these legit? I can't tell if the reviews are even legit. Does anyone have experience?
