Hi Ayaan_Ali

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

All the UWP apps and Store Apps and games are stored in a highly protected folder named WindowsApps in the C:\Program Files folder, that folder is not accessible and if you change permissions on that folder, most of the apps in Windows will stop functioning

To see the exact location of the Store app executable, follow these steps:

Open Task Manager, select the Processes Tab

Right click any column header and turn on the Command Line column

Open the Store App, then when you see that process in Task Manager, click the small arrow beside the Store process and in the Command Line column, you will see the location of the Store executable

The location is usually something like this:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsStore_22112.1401.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\WinStore.App.exe

WinStore.App.exe Windows process - What is it?
The app has passed the Windows Store certification. The program is not visible. The process uses ports to connect to or from a LAN or the Internet. WinStore.App.exe appears to be a compressed file. Therefore the technical security rating is 17% dangerous, however you should also read the user reviews. Uninstalling this variant: You can uninstall Microsoft Store or Microsoft Windows Store, or try to get help from the software vendor.

Better to Install from Windows Store than EXE? - Microsoft (Windows) - Neowin
February 7, 2022 - Is it better to install a Windows Store version of an app compared with the full exe from the website? VLC for example. Just not sure of the point in the Windows Store at the moment but wonder if this is now the tipping point from exe installers to apps.

r/Windows10 on Reddit: Where are Windows Store app's executable files stored? I need to browse-select OneNote app's executable from a dialogue box in another program.
January 9, 2016 -

I'm configuring the touchpad. It has a feature to use 3 fingers to open a specific program. I'm trying to assign it to OneNote Store app but I don't know where to browse to select its executable file.

This is not what I'm looking for - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office...

Someone suggested C:\Program Files\WindowsApps , but I don't see that folder. Entered that address in Explorer address bar, hit enter and was asked to grant admin rights. Granted it but got a message that I don't have right to open it. Does that path actually exist? Any other way? Thanks.

EDIT: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Office.OneNote_xx.xxxx.xxxxx.x_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\onenoteim.exe turned out to be the full OneNote app path. Still can't find the executable that I can manually run to open OneNote.

EDIT2: This

Whats the .exe file location of the Microsoft store? I need the .exe file, not the shortcut as the shortcut doesn't work for what I'm using it for.

I also need for the file path to actually open Microsoft store.

windows - An MSI/EXE app published to Microsoft Store - how are isolated it is? - Stack Overflow
The whole Windows Store has different sections for MSIX vs MSI/EXE in most page headers you can choose, for example. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/publish/publish-your-app/… You have no isolation with msi/exe apps since you have no package no identity, so your app may not use some modern Windows features learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/desktop/modernize/…
