WE makes some good stuff, the issue with them is they have a lower floor in terms of quality, but I’ve found that you get what you pay for. My $400 lounge chair got tossed after 5 years, but the mid century dresser is a keeper. Having said that, you’ll always be paying a premium for the name. For the same price you can probably get a vintage piece that’s better constructed. But the lounge chair >$1000 will probably be pretty good. Conversely RB consistently makes good quality stuff, everything I’ve bought from there for my house renno will be sticking around a while. I’d try to test them out if you can, go the the store, test the fabric and construction. More on reddit.com

I’m a big fan of Milo Baughman’s Recliner 74 ( DWR listing ). Not cheap, but it’s comfy, not at all bulky looking, and the built-in foot rest folds out from under the seat when you recline. More on reddit.com

It's chairworks, It's most likely from the 80s as the company is around 40 years old. Here it is in teal . It gave me the vibes of 80s interpretation of mid century lounger which is how I found it. I can't tell you about price because the one I found went at auction for $50, but it was teal which has a specific audience (me!) and auction results can be all over the place. $550 USD is around the average price I'm seeing online for a sold vintage Chairworks lounge chair with ottoman of similar style. So you're probably okay, but I'd negotiate down anyway. Also, I love the teal one and I wish is 2018 because the auction would have been within driving distance of me. More on reddit.com

We want to add two recliners to our living room and while I would love to get two Milo Baughman Recliner 74s I don't have that kind of cash. We do not have the space to have a chair and ottoman so it must be a recliner.

I know the consensus is the WE is not great quality and folks here seem to prefer the R&B.
My question is what chairs are we missing that should be on our list that are similar?

I know this is an old post and OP probably already has a recliner, but I am in the market for one and thought I could share my experience. I only watched the video for the West Elm, but I tried the Milo Baughman in person at DWR and the Westport at Room & Board. The West Elm model linked above has a tilt mechanism rather than a reclining mechanism. It is similar to cheaper officer chairs where the seat and back cushions move back together as a single piece. The angle between the two cushions remain unchanged. The Room & Board is made by American Leather which is a reputable manufacturer. You can find it at other stores, but Room & Board is ironically the cheapest place to get this particular model. This is a true recliner, but I find that it has two major issues. The first is that you have to move around to adjust your body after changing the recline. There is a big gap between the seat and the back in the fully reclined position. You can probably fix it with a lumbar support pillow though. The second issue is that the armrests don't go back far enough and your arms will be unsupported in anything other than the unreclined position. You can see both issues on the video on their website if you watch very carefully. The Milo Baughman Recliner 74 is pretty much perfect except for the cost. It is made from solid wood. The attention to detail is impeccable. It follows the spinal curve. You can increase the recline up and down without moving the rest of your body around. The armrest extends far enough to support your hands in most positions except the fully reclined position. It also drops down a bit in the back, so it still feels comfortable when reclined. It is the most expensive among all three. However, if you wait for a DWR sale, you can get them for about $800 more than the Room & Board Westport. Not cheap, but attainable. Edit: The Domingo recliner at Crate&Barrel is slightly more expensive than the West Elm and could be a good budget alternative. Few leather choices (most are vegan leathers) and is not solid wood(veneer over engineered wood), but it has the vaguely curved arm rests like the original and does not have the big hole in the back problem like the Room&Board. I don't expect it to last as long, but it is significantly cheaper.
