I checked out multiple midi controllers before finally deciding on the MPK49. For the price it seemed like it was the most durable (although at first that wasn't a big deal to me until another producer friend told me about an accident he had with his midi controller.), I also loved the feel of the knobs, faders & keys compared to most that I had tried. As a Reason and Ableton user, they worked perfectly fine for me with the built in presets, but was also really easy to remap them in each DAW. One thing I still haven't figured out it how to use it to control Reason while being rewired to Ableton. If anyone knows how to do this it'd be sweet. Overall, I love my Akai. I am happy with my decision and always recommend it to others. Stop by your local store and check it out for yourself! :)
