Hello.. I just received the M18 Fuel Angle Grinder 4.5/6" model. My first surprise was that they only gave the 6" guard with it... but put in the manual to only use 6" discs with it. So not sure how they can advertise it as a 4.5" also... since they dont provide the smaller guard with it. My old Dewalt Flexvolt came with both size guards.
My next question is about what discs to use. The specs say its 5/8" arbor... but all the 6" discs i can find are 7/8 arbor. In the Q&A... someone said you can use the 7/8 arbor sized discs, with the two flanges tightened down. But wont that allow wobble with the discs?

You should be good with the 6” guard. Just use the cut off discs correctly and don’t buy cheap discs. I have pinched the Diablo ones dozens of times and they have only chunked off a small piece and have never grenaded on me. Can always buy the smaller guard too it’s like $15. I’m actually going to get one myself just because it makes it smaller for tight areas when i need that.

I dunno. When my cut off wheel gets smaller than 6” i dont switch guards anyway. Should be fine. I have the 9” grinder and use 7” type 27 cut off blades. 🤷♂️

Good morning! Company ordered a couple of these for my team, but I suspect the wrong size discs were included? I cannot fit both the flange and flange nut onto the mounting bolt, and just using the flange nut causes the wheel to dismount when the brake kicks in. Only about 1/3rd of the thread on the nut catches the bolt.
Some advice for a newbie?

Hey guys I have a corded 4-1/2" Milwaukee angle grinder at our shop and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this disc off. I've tried holding the wheel lock down and twisting it and I've tried to get in there in between the disc and the tool but I don't have a good wrench for that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Looks to me like one of the grinding wheels that has the threads built into the disc. It's simply threaded onto the post that comes out of the grinder and no locking nut is used. Use a wrench on the part between the grinding wheel and the tool and spin the entire disc the opposite direction that the wheel spins when the tool is in use. Good luck 👍

Unplug it first please. It's threaded on, hold the button release button, turn wheel until it stops. Give a good yank. If it doesn't move try to put a wrench on it
