I’m torn between the Mina Baie Emmy in black/black — either nylon or vegan leather — and I’d love to hear from parents who’ve used either one.
The company says nylon holds up better in rain and that both fabrics can be wiped clean. But I’ve seen mixed reviews saying nylon isn’t always easy to clean, especially with milk or food stains. If you’ve owned one (or both!), how has yours held up over time? Any issues with stains, wear, or cleaning?
For context:
I’ll have a newborn and a 2.5-year-old (not potty trained yet).
Planning to buy the Full size to carry diapers for two, snacks, spare clothes, etc.
My top priorities are durability, easy cleanup, and a style my husband will also feel comfortable using

I would go with nylon. “Vegan leather” it’s just a fancy marketing term for pleather; Pleather is plastic that is meant to look like leather. Because it is essentially plastic, under stress, it will stretch at the stitching. In my 20s, I had many pleather purses, none of which held up well. Also, strictly my personal opinion, I feel like pleather just looks cheap.

I have the Stevie in the vegan leather. One thing to note for the nylon is that is had real leather trims, meaning you probably can't soak the bag to give it an entire wash if you wanted to. This is one of the reasons why I went with the vegan leather instead, since it's easy to wipe down all over whereas I don't feel it's always easy to wipe down nylon if spills have soaked into it. But overall I do think nylon is a more durable material so if you want a bag you can keep using for years and years even after you don't need a diaper bag, the nylon one is probably a better choice. Overall I'm happy with my bag. It's very aesthetically pleasing (which is why I went with it in the first place). So far I haven't noticed any wear at the corners or cracking in the material. I do have realistic expectations though so I assume it will eventually crack. That being said, I've had some cheapie pleather bags in the past that have lasted a long time so I hope I can at least use this bag through a 2nd child lol.
