Hey there!
You should look at http://www.modpackindex.com/
Find mods that have to do with building, decorating, etc and then find a modpack that combines them together.
If you're looking for an aesthetic pack, Jadedcat has one you can check out: http://www.curse.com/modpacks/minecraft/225080-aesthetic-construction
I've never used it, but love her Agrarian Skies and Magic Farm packs, so I suspect that this is a good one too.
I've seen a few mods on here as well as finding some on Curse I wanted to highlight (especially to supplement Chisel & Bits).
Additional Ender Blocks - This mod adds Ender-like blocks by extending the Ender Stone palette and the Purpur Block palette, which really enhances End builds (if you're into that).
ArchitectureCraft - This mod gives the feel of Carpenter Blocks. That is, it adds slopes, curves, and rounds out the blockiness of Minecraft. It gives more structure and architecture to Minecraft, hence the name.
Decorative Styles - This mod only adds a few blocks, but what it does add gives builds more character. The glass and jungle cobblestone are the notable additions. The jungle cobblestone fits well with ruins builds and blends nicely with End Stone, Sandstone, and Cobblestone.
Earthworks - Earthworks is more of a naturalistic block mod. The textures are subtle and they all blend together very well. If you're looking to improve any medieval builds or add to a garden build, this mod is for you.
Extra Blocks Mod - This mod adds a lot of blocks that compact common Minecraft materials. Some of the blocks have unique attributes to them which may be too overpowered for your preference, but they have some interesting textures. This mod is both for building and utility for storing all your Minecraft valuables.
More Materials - This mod adds some different block variations. The brick palette is a super clean texture, and gives many different builds so much character. A few other blocks are added that follow in the texture pattern of Quark's blocks (in my opinion).
Platforms - This mod adds railings that resemble catwalks. The best part is that you can design your own railings with the Platformer. This is a great accent for all these other mods.
Rockhounding Mod: Surface - The best part about this mod is that it adds random patches of its own logs that generate around the world. The textures fit in with almost any build and are wonderful for designing.
Rustic - Rustic adds more than blocks. It adds pots, tables, and beehives that can be used to create decor in the interior of your builds. I just like the feeling of this mod, and it looks like it will only get better with time.
And that's it! Tell me if you know of any other building mods that are not seen that often.
Edit: So I messed up on the Extra Blocks mod. I thought it was that compacting blocks mod, but I just checked and it's completely different. The Extra Blocks Mod is for 1.8. Here is the actual description for it.
Extra Blocks - This mod brings the TerraFirmaCraft stone into 1.10. These blocks are different palettes of the Minecraft stone you are already used to. They are very versatile in the way they can be utilized.
Hello!
I have been lurking around reddit for a while now, but this is my very first post.
So I had been playing quite a lot of modded minecraft since the first Industrial Craft 1 came out! And I really loved it much more than vanilla ever since. On 1.6.4 I tried my first modpack (back then it was very painful to set up, because you had to follow all the Block ID's and such), so the feeling when I finally got it working and stable with around 100 mods, I was extremely happy for my custom creation.
With 1.7.10 (after quite a long time of waiting for the right mods to appear) I got excited to try it again, to see how I could manage to set up a new custom modpack just for the challenge. I experimented for a year with 1.7.10 and about a year and a half / two years ago I updated the mods I had and added some more tech-sided mods and loaded it up again with a server.
Been playing this quite cool client-side generated Savana Plateau map for about two years and happened to fall in love with the game again, because there is just so much to do and learn with all the mods available.
I love to experiment with the Applied Energistics and Industrial craft to created some kind of automated central base for all my future needs, like building a space station with the Galacticraft mod and creating flyable ships with the Archimedes' ships mod.
Here is a link to the gallery of my base
Apologies up front for the poor image quality due to all the stock graphics and low chunk loading range, I have everything turned down due to the performance boost I need in my main base.
I can set up a modlist if anyone is interested.
On an earlier version of my modpack for 1.7.10 I tried to create a space station (creative)

Thank you :)
