Pitcher Plants as Buckets
Videos
There is probably a million and a half ways of doing it, but I can't figure it out. Random things has it's water plant that says it does so, but it is so slow I haven't seen it budge for hours. And just pumping water doesn't work.
The sniffer plants are currently useless, and not very many people put effort in to get them. I have an idea to give a function to each.
The pitcher plant attracts arthropods, and can have inside it one silverfish or endermite, which it will automatically kill every three to six seconds. This will let you make semi-automatic XP farms with an allay drowning chamber, potions of infestation, and a pitcher plant. Or, if you are being swarmed by cave spiders, place one on avalible dirt or in a flower pot as a diversion.
Many have already suggested that the torch flower gives out light, and this is a good idea, but I have an addition. Many have also recommended torch arrows, but what about torch flower arrows? Crafting a torch flower with a spectral arrow gives two torch flower arrows, which give a light level of five when embedded in a non-entity. A normal torch flower gives a light level of seven. (I got the idea of adding the torch flower to arrows from Legends of Zelda).
This was released in the 1.20 update, Trails and Tales. These were obtained by an already rare mob from the ruins, the sniffer from the sniffer egg, basically only used for sniffing out only TWO seeds, torch flower and pitcher plant seeds. Basically, people only use them for buildings but, many don't even know these exist. The last time I used these, was in the release preview and some times after it. I wished they did some rework on this mob to sniff more seeds and get more plants.
Edit:- I mean it is not useless, just wish it had more functionality, just feels weird to me, to go all those adventures to find a mob, which is cool, I must admit but it only sniffs two seeds, Mojang should at least add like 10-15 plants.
Pitchers are made to hold water, so pitcher plants should similarly be able to be used like buckets.
Pros
The main upside to pitcher plants is quantity: they can hold up to 4x the amount of water and milk that a bucket can.
Controls
There will be a little meter below the pitcher plant showing you how full it is, and the plant will also look more full as a visual cue. If it isn’t full, the pitcher plant will default to filling up whenever applicable, and vice versa for if it is full. You can hold the right-click to continue filling/emptying it as needed. You have to empty a pitcher plant first before placing it.
Cons
The main downside to pitcher plants is that they cannot be used to carry lava, powder snow, and mobs. You also can’t mix milk with water, it all has to be one liquid.
