Mint map comes direct from T-Mobile so is same as T-Mobile map minus domestic roaming - complain to T-Mobile if inaccurate. They are based on theoretical maximum of cell tower/bands coverage area but do not take into account obstructions such as buildings and trees and even height elevation changes (hills). I recommend crowdsourced coverage and speed data that is much more accurate to street and house level then Mint or T-Mobile's site, but also might be more out of date in some areas. Mint runs on top of the T-Mobile network, which has historically prioritized coverage in metro areas & highways, though it's started to get a little better with suburban coverage after the Sprint acquisition. Rural is still a nightmare, so don't take backroads when you're going to the mountains or shore points. One thing to be aware of is that, as a MVNO on top of the T-Mobile network, T-Mobile traffic will be prioritized over Mint's traffic. Meaning you can sit side by side with someone on T-Mobile and if it's busy (like at a ballgame), the T-Mobile customer will have signal while you'll be getting no data and suffering through dropped calls. coverage: location location location mint is tmobile visible is verizon mint is deprioritized tmobile visible base plan is deprioritized verizon tmobile is usually a less harsh experience when deprioritized than verizon is many bigger cities but you might have the opposite in less populated areas... if you are considering visible do yourself the favor and do visible+ for 35 its worth the extra $15 bucks especially if your phone does c band or mmwave. customer service wise Ive heard horror stories about both but happy customers don't flock to social media to rave, only to complain. i have never used mint but i use visible+, I have not had to deal with customer care ever. the coverage question is really about location location location however... if your phone supports esims its pretty easy to test networks for pretty cheap these days... many offer free trials (see below) and with others I just turn on a low cost plan with new random number with limited features and compare them for a month... if your phone does esims it might also do dual listening which allows you to keep your phone using your current provider for the voice calls and the test network as your data network... most iphones that support esims do this. the plan search toolkit: prepaidcompare.net lists plans is usually up to date , priority thread explaining the current priorities of plans , this thread shows the throttle rates and priorities across plans , here are some free network trials if you want to test coverage: tmobile trial (priority tmo) , google fi trial (priority tmo) , cricket trial (priority att) , verizon trial (priority vzw) , visible trial (deprioritized verizon) More on reddit.com
