I am looking at upgrading my random orbital sander
Ugh... me too. I deliberately avoid it because not only is it $$$, but because the Festool has like a dozen of them and I'm totally lost. I read the paragraph about it and it looks identical to a bunch of other models. Why this not that???
I'd go Deros myself if only for the fact that they have like one model so that makes choosing simple.

Bought an ETS EC 125/3 at Rockler this morning.
I was planning on buying a new sander anyways to reduce the vibrations from the Dewalt ROS I’m currently using. Originally was going to go with a Bosch ROS65-5, but spent the extra ~$150 to get the Festool instead. I figured the extra money is worth it for the lighter weight, better ergonomics, and supposed better dust collection.
Will put it to use this weekend sanding some Hickory I bought to make in to floating shelves for our master bathroom.
