I recently used a buddies Mirka sander and realized I was living in the stone age with my little Makita. I have already had my heart set in the Festool then he said go Mirka and I’m lost. In my research I keep seeing the 3M sander and I kinda don’t know what direction to go now… although im positive it’s not 3M.
What do you guys prefer out of the Festool or Mirka?

Mirka/Festool over other RO sanders?
Does the price difference for Mirka or Festool RO sander offer more over the Bosch, 3M, or AirVantage ones I see at half the cost? I'm all for "buy once, cry once," but not for paying prestige that doesn't amount to anything. More on garagejournal.com

October 29, 2022Can anyone explain the difference between a $70 random orbital sander and a $500 festool/mirka sander?
As someone who used a cheap $40 sander then the big handle Makita then a Festool ETS EC 125/3 I like to think I have a pretty well informed opinion on this. The biggest things to me are the lack of vibration going into my hand and the amazing dust extraction when hooked up to a shop vac or dust extractor. It also sands faster and leaves a perfect finish without trying, I have to purposely be a dumbass with sanding technique to induce swirl marks at 120 grit. Also good sand paper really matters pick up some 3M xtrac cubitron paper no matter what RO sander you are using. More on reddit.com

April 5, 2011 - I have never held or used a Mikra, but I have had a Festool RO150 in my hand for many hours a day for many days! We use the RO125 and RO150 both great sanders but the RO150 in my opinion blows the 125 away, because it has a much greater stroke in Rotax mode and 700+ watts of power in RO mode.

I don't know about the Mirka other than having looked at one. But within the Festool line you should be looking at ETS150/5, RO150, or RO90 for all purpose sanders.
