If you’d start a part time SE masters with a couple years experience, it should be a nice way to provide some structure to what you’re doing at work. It’s worth studying for Incose ASEP or the OCSMP lvl 1 and 2 as well! Also, Cornell, Stevens, JHU, all good programs More on reddit.com

I completed the whole professional certificate. It was extremely interesting and worth it. You have very interesting readings, interviews, concepts very well explained and the best subject matter experts/professors teaching their core topics. I would take this training before taking a OMG focused training which would be very MBSE-oriented. One thing I learned during the MITx certificate is you need to understand when to model a system and how important it is to keep it credible. In other words, the MITx training is focused on training a systems engineer thinking while a OMG training focuses on MBSE. I hope this helps a tiny bit. More on reddit.com

February 8, 2021Is the Systems Engineer course offered online by MIT worth the cost ?
I took it this year and it's worth it if your company will sponsor you. I would not reccomend paying out of pocket for it unless you have 2500 dollars to spend. Also depends on what your reason is for taking it. Like where are you at in your career. Are you trying to get into the field? Skip it and do your level 1 & 2 ocsmp. More on reddit.com

Background: I grew up in a third world country, like every engineer, MIT was/is a dream. With some luck, I ended up with a Ph.D in ML from an R1 university (non-top 10) and currently working at big tech company as a research scientist for about 4 years. I do have papers in top ML conferences along with significant impact in projects at my job and I make over 300K.
I thought after finishing my Ph.D, I will get over my MIT dream and find something more interesting but that has not happened yet. So, coming back to the question, is spending 80K worth the dream or I am just plain stupid?
Just to add, I am interested in management route.
EDIT: I visited the MIT campus on Friday and absolutely loved it. I will definitely be applying for MS SDM.

No. The SDM degree is somewhat unknown and I think you are better off doing a part time MBA or executive MBA if you are truly interested in management education...
