Same here! I added a product that Modalyst showed they had . I had $1500 in orders and Modalyst did not did not ship . I had to refund 27 customers!!! I tried to call asap to get the orders out but no phone #!! Just a chat with 3 different people and after several chats they stopped replying. They’re pitiful for doing business. I found out the product had been discontinued but they still posted it. I suffered many sleepless nights and experienced the wrath of dissatisfied customers all because of Modalyst incompetence! I'm not sure of the quality of a lot of them, but for zero effort other than a listing I could be adding an extra $3-12 per item sold if I sell any of them. I wouldn't offer any of the AliExpress stuff, and would stay with US only known websites like TinGoat soap and candles.

Does this seem worth adding, and does anyone have any experience with it? If so, would it almost be worth just setting up a separate drop shipping site so as not to risk cannibalizing/hurting my brand?

r/dropship on Reddit: Modalyst or Spocket? Both? None?
April 13, 2019 -

I posted this on r/shopify but thought I should ask the dropshipping community :)

I'm looking to add some more products, mainly clothing accessories, to my dropshipping store. I am currently using Oberlo and Aliexpress, but I would like to add some indie brands to the store. I was browsing Spocket and Modalyst. Anyone using them currently or have used it in the past? Would you recommend them or nah?

Cheers in advance!

So I am a dropshipper as well as a Shopify Partner and Expert. I design Shopify dropshipping and eCommerce stores as well through my studio Franky's Studio. Ill give you a bit of my dropshipping history. I have been in the game for a few years now, and the one thing i can tell you is its not just about your products. I built my first, second and third stores quite a while ago and used both Oberlo & AliExpress with no success. The failures were not because of the the great site design, or lack of customer service or anything on that front. Where I ran into the biggest problems was shipping times, product quality, and the horrible customer service i received from both Oberlo and Ali. Its great to be selling products, but if you do 10k in a month and 8500 gets charged back because the product is crap or the delivery time was 6 weeks you'll never get ahead and you'll work until your dead. I don't know about you but I want ed to be in the position to make money while I sleep. When I found Spocket and Modalyst I checked them both out. Both offer US and EU products, both claimed to have fast shipping times, but they varied in price. I chose Spocket because they offered great suppliers, that when i did my research i noticed lots of people had great things to say about them. When I opened my 4th and 5th stores, i went with Spocket! I entered the Women's Fitness/Streetwear Niche (most saturated niche in the game), and the dog/puppy niche. Although I'm not quite where i want to be yet,(i am making great money though) probably because of my design studio, it gets better every month and ill tell you why. The products are better, the shipping times are way faster and if i have a problem Spocket has exceptional customer service. I had a billing issue that was really weird and approached them with my issue. Saba the CEO/Founder contacted me within 20 minutes of my post and complaint and made it right. Not only did he fix my billing issue but he took care of me and my business like it was his own and made me feel like i was part of the family. Spocket now has a great community for learning called Spocket Academy! This added with all of the other great benefits makes it a no brainer. I suggest you check it out. There are a ton of great people that contribute to the Academy and can virtually help you with anything from logo design and layout, to marketing, and product selection. So to answer your question. Get away from what 90% of the industry does, (aliexpress because its easy) and get serious about your dropshipping store and go with Spocket. You won't regret it. Join their Facebook page! Join the Academy! And most of all don't be afraid to ask the members for help if you succeed they succeed! Just my 2 cents! Stop Trying To Fit In, Forget Yesterday, Stop Saying Tomorrow, And Kill It Today!!!! Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/spocketofficial/ Spocket Academy https://academy.spocket.co/

I believe Modalyst is done. I signed up a couple of months ago and paid for a (expensive) year membership. NOW a few days ago I get an email from Modalyst that they lost their deal with brands distribution who supplies their name brand products for us to sell. Then today I hear Shein is not going to work with Modalyst.

Beware of these scammers that are Spocket!!! To provide context, I signed up for a free trial of Spocket (Shopify app store). As soon as I realized this app is no good (random products with high costs), I made sure to check my membership status before deleting the app from my Shopify store. Under membership, it shows I was on a basic plan and also they made it almost impossible to find the option to cancel so I thought I was good. Guess what, a few days later, I was charged $99 after the trial concluded for the premium plan. I immediately reached out to their customer service team to request a refund. They agreed that there was no Shopify account linked to that Spocket account and that I've never used their services (adding products). They then pretended to submit a refund request and told me they'd reach out soon. This is a lie by the way to delay your refund for as long as possible, they only have a few employees, mostly in Asia, who play different roles and act like they have a whole refund department that reviews cases. After being met with no responses for 13 days, they finally reached out and said no they cannot issue a refund (no surprise here). I have to emphasize the fact that I never even used the service during the trial period, and I did not receive any value from the service for which I was charged (refund requested on the same day I was charged). Additionally, it is very unprofessional that the team initially acknowledged the lack of use and promised a resolution, only to refuse to provide a refund (and took 13 days to do that). This is a warning message for you guys to be careful with these people. The dropship business tends to attract the worst kind of business practices unfortunately.

If you have a Shopify store, you have most likely heard of both of these apps that help improve the product sourcing process for retailers. Both offer the right tools to automate your dropship store. DropCommerce, Wonify, and ShopMaster are other highly recommended Shopify apps for merchants, but today we’re going to focus our attention on Modalyst and Oberlo app.

r/shopify - Modalyst Shein Dropshipping Inventory Not Updating
November 6, 2015 -

Hey guys!

I opened up a dropshipping store on Shopify about a month ago. I decided to use Modalyst as the dropshipping platform because they offered Shein products (I know, they're hit or miss on quality). For the first few weeks, my inventories were staying up to date with Modalyst's "real-time" updates. However, somewhere down the road, I noticed that I had 8 of a product in both my Modalyst/Shopify inventories, but Shein was SOLD OUT of the item. I've tried taking the product out of Modalyst's "Sync List" and re-Importing it into the store. No luck. Not to mention, Modalyst nearly NEVER responds. I'm thinking that going through, delete every product and then re-add all 166 items to my store from scratch... which is going to take FOREVER.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

June 28, 2020 -

Hello! I spent hours and days optimizing my storefront as a supplier for retailers on Modalyst and I have only gotten a couple of sales ( after being a supplier for over a year) for items that are out of stock because Modalyst can't sync my inventory properly. Is Modalyst worth it? Has anyone had a different experience?

September 6, 2015 -

Hi everyone,

I am new here and also on the shopify platform. I have seen quite a few apps for dropshipping but modalyst really stands out for me, but as it is right now i am having doubts based on the reviews that i have seen.

Please share your experience if you have used the app or have any information on it, or maybe a better app?

Thank you.

r/dropship - Can you use Oberlo or Modalyst to start dropshipping with Wix?
September 26, 2016 -

There has been a good deal of conversation across forums about whether you can start dropshipping with a Wix store. Historically, Wix did not support dropshipping through their platform. However, this has recently changed. Companies like Modalyst and Printful have integrations for Wix. I'd love hear whether anyone has any experience with Wix dropshipping. As a representative of Modalyst, I'd be happy to share my feedback as others chime in!

r/dropship on Reddit: Spocket vs Modalyst vs Doba vs... : anyone has experience as a vendor?
July 10, 2022 -

I have been researching the various venues for dropshipping vendors, and wanted to ask for the collective experience here.

For a manufacturer/vendor, are there significant differences between these platforms (or other alternatives) and a clear choice, such as A is good for big ticket items and B is good if you are in the health niche, etc.?

Or is it trial and error until you find what works for you?

In my case, I am in the jewelry niche, and am able to offer inventory in the US.

Many thanks in advance.
