So I’m a lifelong horror fan, my first horror movie was 1408 when I was 9 (I’m now 24), but I’ve mostly stuck to watching newer horror that has come out. I’ve watched a few classic horror movies and have tried to watch a few more but didn’t finish, but there are still a ton I haven’t seen.
What classic horror movies would you guys recommend I watch that would give me a good, well rounded watchlist in this genre? I’m thinking of making a list of 10-15.
Classics I’ve watched:
-The Exorcist Trilogy -The Thing -Scream movies -Pet Semetary -The Blair Witch Project
What are your top 5 scariest modern horror movies? I’ve looked at every scariest movie post I could find on Reddit. Most people list a lot of older movies like Friday the 13th,nightmare on elm, etc. I love all of these movies. The old effects just don’t truly scare me after every newer thing I’ve seen. Hoping to start a fun conversation. Sorry if you are sick of this kind of post!
I’m the same way, the older movies are great but don’t scare me the same way as some of the ones with modern effects. The scariest recent movies to me are:
-
Hereditary
-
Sinister
-
The Descent
For me it is and always will be The Strangers. It is the most realistic horror out there. Home invasion horror movies are truly terrifying. It could happen to any one of us.
