Bathroom medicine cabinets have been a common element in every home I've ever had. Now we're building a new home and no one seems to use them anymore.
They always seemed like a great idea to me. keep things tidy, have easy access to things like toothbrush, toothpaste, contact solution, etc.
We are having some put in, but I'm curious - Why have these gone out of style? What has replaced them? What do you prefer?

Hello everyone. My wife and I bought a new build home. Tomorrow we get the keys and we still have no idea what we're going to do about the lack of medicine cabinets in the restrooms.
We knew for awhile that the home didn't have them, but we had more important things to address before we worried about this little issue.
Well now it's caught up to us and we are trying to figure out a workaround for the problem.
I could get one of those cheap ol' medicine cabinets but lack the skill set to actually put one into the wall, and so it'd just sit right on the wall, popped out further than we would like. I don't think we'll have any money left over to hire someone to place it inside the wall.
What the heck do people in my situation do? I really want our toothbrushes inside something and not laying out on the counter collecting germs.
Any alternatives to a medicine cabinet?
