So I’ve just moved into this home and really wanted to try my hand at making my room feel intentional yet cozy and warm. I had no idea where to start so I asked my dear friend ChatGPT.
I got started on the idea and have been picking up pieces here and there from antique shops, estate sales, and Facebook marketplace. I went to Vizcaya a couple of months ago and fell in love. I wanted it to have that same feel (minus the multibillion dollar estate). It’s not perfect but I love how it’s coming out. I’ve never had a space feel so warm and loving??? (I know that’s weird) but it feels like a home I’ve been longing for. I’m thinking of bringing in more of an emerald green into the mix but don’t know how to execute.
Any ideas on what I should add?

So I really need help with upgrading my space- I have a few ideas but also there’s a few things I’m unsure of- as I’m renting as well I need to be a bit more careful (I have got permission to paint). Can anyone let me know their thoughts or if there’s anything else that would add to the space? The second picture is my dream style. Thanking you :)
My ideas so far: • Sulking Pink paint by Farrow & Ball (a dusky mauve pink). Unsure whether to do white shelving unit/boiler cupboard as well or leave that white? Planning on leaving my doors and ceiling white. https://www.farrow-ball.com/paint/sulking-room-pink • a cream headboard cover •Walnut contact paper to transform white bedside table •either a vintage lamp beside bed, or a non hard-wired gold sconce (the ones where you can recharge the bulb) • Vintage gallery wall above bed with oil paintings of nature and animals in gold and dark wood frame’s •light coloured duvet with pink velvet & floral cushions to decorate •long cream curtains
Unfortunately I can’t change the overhead lighting which is annoying as it doesn’t match the style at all, but what can you do lol.
