You're absolutely free in coming here, asking whatever you want to! Here's a comment I once wrote. I mean it was more tailored towards a Muslim woman that wants to wear hijab but is struggling, but you can still go through it May Allah bless you sister, here are some insights I wrote once, maybe it appeals to you! Well my insight would be that first of all it is clear that the women are profiting far more from such type of covering than the men. Which gender is much more sexualized. Which gender is more oftenly slapped on posters and ads in a half naked way to make a product more attractive? Which gender is much more subject to beauty standards and also being reduced to their beauty. Beautiful women that dress in an attractive way, that have an attractive body and make up etc are treated far better than women who show less nakedness, who use less make up, who are less flirty. And women who don't fit certain standards are called ugly, are disregarded and they feel forced to jump on the hype train of trying to look like certain people, certain body types and chasing certain features to appease the eyes of others, selling their complete happiness and their values in this process. Hijab (not only the covering but also the mental idea of hijab) would reduce this issue immensely. In the end we men are struggling from this far less. And another thing is, yeah women have lust too, nobody denies it. But the effect of visuals is stronger on men, a man is much more influenced by seeing the half naked body of a woman then vice versa. Atleast on average I don't say the hijab came for x or y reason or to stop horny men from looking at women. Only Allah knows the reasons, I just offered some advantages of it so it's easier to understand. May Allah the Exalted make it easy for you to wear hijab. Ameen May Allah the Exalted forgive you your past sins, your future sins, may He elevate you in your status day by day, hour by hour. Ameen May Allah give you the best of this world and the next. Ameen Additionally: Many might say : Oh It’s so hard to let go of the girly high maintenance lifestyle (styling my hair every time I go out, putting flattering outfits together, wearing makeup). Lol they are basically saying: Wow it's so hard to let go of something that takes so much effort uses so much of my time every day. Now sister obviously that dumbs down things a lot, I can understand why the hijab feels very difficult but know that it will benefit you immensely in the dunya and in the akhirah. First and foremost, you will please Allah. That's the biggest thing by far. Then you will protect yourself from being reduced to how you look (atleast partially), you won't need to waste as much time every day to do your hair, choose your clothing, do your make up, get your make up off before salah etc etc. It's not as easy anymore to stuff you into beauty standards of body and hair, since, well, they are hidden! People got no idea how you look in those areas. You will also be an inspiration for other Muslim sisters. Perhaps they see you as this strong capable women and perhaps sisters who were shy and anxious about it, just like you right now, would look up to you and perhaps follow your foot steps. I have read it often that some people get more distant to hijab, because it's so rare and they know so little hijabis. You wearing it could perhaps have the opposite effect inshallah! And final bonus: Obviously you can still choose nice clothes lol! Experiment around and Inshallah you'll find something you like! And as for enforcing hijab, I have this one video, it is fantastic! AbayaButh: I have bought from them many times. I usually get my package within 10 days, but the abayas are quite expensive, and I also have to pay duty fees as I live in Canada. The material of the abayas are great, and they look as pictured, so there are no surprises, ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ. I am 4’11, so I purchase my abayas and jilbabs in size 52. You can purchase niqabs with some of the jilbabs, but I am personally not a fan as the niqab strings are not long enough in my opinion (could not double knot) and the fabric that goes over the forehead is not wide enough either. So, you can see my forehead, and I either have to tie the jilbab a little more over my forehead, which makes it uncomfortable, or tie the niqab higher to cover the space, which makes the eye slit smaller and rub against my eye. AbayaBoutique: Purchased from them once, great material of the abayas and also fast shipping (roughly 7-10 days), but expensive because of the currency exchange. SunnahStyle: my favourite brand! Based in Canada, so I would get my packages in 3 days. Material is amazing for all of the abayas. I LOVE ALL OF THEIR NIQABS. They fit so nicely, it's like they made it just for me. They are lightweight, breathable, strings are long, so I can make a double knot, and they have a huge selection of different styles and coverage. However, I do not like their gloves. Too long for my fingers, and they have clips on them so you can clip them together when you aren't wearing them. But, I find that they get in the way and rub against my sleeves. Amirah Ldn: Bad experience. I placed an order of 2 abayas and was notified that it had been shipped. They provided me with an untraceable shipping number, and I emailed the courier about the status of my shipment but the shipment didn’t even exist! A lot of back and forth, but they eventually refunded me my money a month later. I avoid them. ilovemodesty: purchased 3 maxi dresses from them, but they were super long on me, so I had to get them tailored. Great quality and they were really pretty. A little on the expensive side though and felt a little heavy to walk around in, but wasn't too bad. Bilal Niqabs: Etsy shop based in India. Best khimars I’ve ever bought. I got a brown and a black 3-layered diamond shape khimar custom made to my height, and it gave me such amazing coverage from the front (goes past my waist) and back (the longest layer goes down to just above my ankle, but it doesn’t drag on the floor). The khimars do not feel heavy on the head like most do, since they are airy, flowy and lightweight. However, due to the stitching, you have to tie the khimar inside not outside because if you tie it outside you can see the stitching. He had a sale at the time for 2 for $50 USD which is a really good price in my opinion. Since he custom makes them, it takes quite a bit to ship. It took me about 6 weeks to get mine in the mail, so be patient. Susy hijab: I love this shop. Susy is so sweet, may Allah bless her. I’ve purchased many abayas and 2 piece sets from her and they are of great quality. The sleeves can be a little tight if you have chubbier arms, so keep that in mind. The abayas are affordable because she is based in Indonesia, so the exchange rate is a plus. However, shipping is based on the weight of the parcel, so if you are buying internationally expect to pay a hefty shipping fee. I bought about a bulk of 10 abayas and a couple niqabs and shawls, so the weight of the parcel was like 14kg. Shipping ended up costing me $200 CAD 😭. I wasn't going to go through with it, but I couldn't resist the abayas. You pay through Western Union. Veiled Collection: Purchased 2 long dresses for my friend and sister who loved them very much. The material of the dresses were very soft, I suggest sizing up if you don't want a tight fit. The shop is expensive, and shipping took quite a bit (about a month to get the package). The dresses look as pictured, but overpriced in my opinion. Muslim Stuff: bought a prayer abaya from them, did not like it and I only wore it once because I had to keep readjusting it during prayer, so it was quite annoying. I don't remember how long shipping took because I bought it a while ago. Reasonably priced. Bazar al Haya: Purchased a one-layer niqab, I really like it. It's quite breathable and the string is long to tie a double knot. It is part of my everyday niqab collection now. The eye slit is a good size, not too big and not too small, so it does not bother me. I paid $20 for the niqab.
