October 21, 2022 - I'm going to give it a go with some fine sandpaper and some Grease. If that doesn't fix it then I'm looking at changing out the entire piece. The box that the cartridge goes into that connects up to the water supply. Fortunately the whole wall is torn out behind and just covered by a piece of plywood so access is very easy.
