r/askaplumber on Reddit: Moen kitchen sink faucet base keeps coming loose
April 7, 2024 -

I have rescrewed and tightened the threaded copper-colored metal going up into it twice. I have tightened the plastic nut under the counter holding it in place many times.

It stays in place for a day or so and then is loose again.

I’ve heard this may be a known problem with Moen, is that true? Is there anything else I can do? It was fine for its first 14 months.

Is it worth it to call a plumber for this, or should I invest in a different faucet? What would you recommend? Many thanks.

frustration about a Moen kitchen faucet | Plumbing Forums - Professional & DIY Plumbing Forum
March 12, 2022 - we have contacted our contractors that did the kitchen to come over and tighten it multiple times. they come to tighten it, and within a week or two, its loose and wobbly again, and we have to call them to tighten it again. this has happened about 7 or 8 times so far, since our kitchen was completed late summer of last year... we had Moen send us all the accessories that go with our faucet, just to make sure we are not missing anything. our contractor came back yet again, and apparently used one or two of the accessories that were not used when they installed the faucet, and supposedly was able to tighten it permanently once and for all this time... supposedly... for a couple of weeks, it seems to be fine. just to test it, I tried to lightly turn the faucet at the base to see if it moves, and to my dismay, it moves ever so slightly...

How to Tighten a Loose Moen Kitchen Faucet Base
January 26, 2022 - Retake the flashlight to concentrate on the area around the Moen kitchen faucet base. Now grab your adjustable wrench and take your water supply lines out. Get the wrench attached between the water lines and the inlet. Then turn it to take them out anticlockwise. Remember to put the hand gloves on while you are at it. It will keep your hands unharmed. You are nearly at the end. Now you need the basin wrench to clasp the loose nuts linking the Moen kitchen faucet up with the base.

r/homeowners on Reddit: Can't tighten loose Moen kitchen sink faucet
April 14, 2019 -

The faucet was installed when our home was built three years ago (i.e. I didn't install it). It is very loose so I thought I could just get under the sink to tighten it with a flare nut wrench. But this faucet has a 2" metal sleeve around the water line that I've never seen before - image.

Even with the hoses removed, I can't get to the nut. Is there a special tool for this or am I just missing something obvious? TIA

BTW, I have looked on Moen's support site for installation instructions but I can't find this specific model (or another model that has the same sleeve).
