We have radiant heat in our basement floors. Can we install this laminate over it?
Does installation require the use of transitions in doorways with a continuous flooring installation? meaning all rooms are getting the same flooring installed
Can you use this over carpeting?
Hello,
We are closing on our dream home very soon. The home is move-in ready except the carpet on the top floor which the flooring company said is 1245 sqft will need to be replaced. Since this is our forever home we decided to go with Revwood Plus Dockside Oak and the local flooring company charged us $4.89 per square foot just for the flooring. Total comes out to $6589.00 for 1348 sq ft. plus additional $202 to drop off the material a week before for it to acclimate to our home.
I checked a random online vendor and they are charging the same flooring for $4,921.45 shipped and another vendor is charging $3,778.18 shipped. That is a $1869.55 difference from the higher quote and $3012.82 from the lower! Total labor is $5336 to install 1245 sq ft of the flooring including the quarter round. I am pulling the carpets my self to save some money.
I get that local places have to mark up but isn't the mark up a bit too high? I already put a deposit down which was half of cost of everything so probably too late now but just curious. We had a really rough miscarriage over the summer and landlord is selling the house so I have been in a different mental state during the house and floor shopping. Now I feel I am coming back to my senses. Just wanted to ask here if I am being charged a fair price? We live in PA near Philly if that matters as I know labor varies by area.
