you need a hellforge, which can be conveniently found in hell. it’s essentially a red furnace. More on reddit.com

You would need to beat the Wall of Flesh. Here’s the wiki entry Here’s a guide Here’s what to do after you beat it to get better stuff This puts your world in hard mode and it spawns new enemies and bosses. This is also where you can beat all those fancy bosses everyone talks about. It creates more ores, monsters, items, NPCs, and all that. More on reddit.com

I have been playing for a while, but i still don't know much about the game. As of 1.4 the reaver shark got a nerf, so the only way i know how is a nightmare pickaxe (for corrupt.) I know i have to defeat the eater for that, but that's the whole reason i need the armor in the first place.
EDIT: Btw, i am in master mode, so that's why i suck

Just defeat the eater with other armor, Molten Armor is VERY overkill for the eater of worlds. Then you can craft Deamonite bars, and use a Deamonite pickaxe to mine hellstone ore

Currently playing master mode with a friend, we have the Crimson instead, but if its any help I had to have a minishark beforehand with silver armor, and my friend had Jungle armor and some magic weapon. We beat it pretty easily but I know Eater is tougher but maybe this gives you some help?

The recipe for any piece of the molten armor set now requires that you have its golden equivalent, in addition to the original amount of hellstone bars to craft it.
I found this out myself when trying to make the set with the bars only. I discovered the change from the guide, who can now tell you what you can craft with what item you place in the inquiry slot when you talk to him and choose the "Crafting" option. Back to mining the crap ores again...
