Im also a hot sleeper, and tried a down duvet but ended up returning it bc I just got too hot. I recently got the THX 6A silk comforter and wow, I love it. It’s so silky, the fabric is buttery soft and it drapes over me as I’m sleeping. I don’t get too hot at night and find it to be just right. I live in a cold climate, so I might eventually get a second winter silk comforter and put them both in the same cover, for the extra cold nights that are below zero, but for now just one is perfect. I thought about getting the Mommesilk one and almost did, but I heard the THX has less silk, so not as warm, so I thought it,ight be better. The only drawback with silk comforters is they all have a slim profile, so you won’t have that puffy, down duvet look. Oh and you can’t wash them, ever, unless you get the lightest summer version from Mommesilk, that is washable. More on reddit.com

I'm sure more experienced folks will respond, but I can give you my newbie silk convert observations. I don't have the Mommesilk brand, but similar ones with comparable silk weight. They are deceptively thin, my 'summer' or 'lightweight' is actually translucent held up to the light, but surprisingly warm. I can't compare with your linen example, but I think it's actually hard to overheat with silk- they breathe so well. The lightweight(2lb silk wt) I'm using now replaced a ~8lb cotton quilt + two thin blankets; I'm a little cool, but the 'all-season' was too warm despite still being lighter weight(4.4lb silk wt). I'm now looking for a quality cover that will give me a tiny bit more warmth. Rather than return the all-season, I am using it as a mattress topper (King, folded over, on a queen mattress)- that is doing the trick for now. While I'm not a hot sleeper per se, I do have bad hot flashes, don't like a lot of weight, so silk has made my sleep so much better as I am not flip flopping the covers all night. I purchased with the expectation they are not to be washed. u/SorcererLeotard and others warn against it, and I believe them. I've seen a few reviews reporting success; I suspect the lighter ones with more quilting to hold the floss may tolerate washing better. I would recommend sizing up if you like a fluffy look, but I think the King would be close enough. The cover I have now only has corner ties, so I improvised with binder clips at the mid-points, but I'm not sure I need them. Since my comforter has middle loops, I can add ties to the cover. I haven't seen any tendency to to slide or bunch, but my cheapo cover (300tc cotton) is a lot less smooth than Sferra percale. Nah, mulberry silk does better at insulation and keeping its shape for a while if you typically get an all-season or winter weight. Summer weights typically are box-stitched and when they're washed the silk fill inside of them will eventually break up over time and create cold pockets, but nothing too bad overall. If you sleep hot it would be preferable to get a summer weight over an all-season weight overall, imo. Mommesilk will be better quality than Your Moon but Your Moon likely will have less fill, thus being more cooling. Either way, most silk inserts will do well for hot sleepers but the only real differences between the brands for the most part is how much silk fill is inside of them (less will be cheaper) and the cover material (higher-quality outershell will be more pricey). I also agree that Black Friday is a good time to get bedding since the deals most companies have will be pretty decent all-around! :) Hope that helps and good luck :) More on reddit.com
