January 13, 2025I am just starting to learn JavaScript and did really well with the one hour mosh video tutorial however the 3 hour free code camp is hard to follow along... should I pay for Moshs website tutorial ?
Those crash-course videos are really only good for review once you know shit. Otherwise they're very challenging. I can recommend Colt Steele's Javascript course on Udemy. You can snag courses there on sale--which they run like every 4 days or something. It was like $14 for me. Heavy on theory early on, but not a drag. I'd recommend reading docs regardless. Javascript.info is a good source. Much more detailed information, and you'll be looking things up anyways. More on reddit.com

I’ve never heard of them. Why not just take a class through edx or coursera from a top 30 university? Makes life for Recruiters easier too. Not to say university education cant be inefficient but a sql focused uni course should be good More on reddit.com

Nothing against him personally or anything, but there are better bang-for-the-buck resources out there. Don't get me wrong, his courses are decent, but too beginner focused and they don't really scratch the surface.
