I've found that I really like sleeping on a futon, which offers a certain type of firmness that I haven't found with other styles (innerspring, memory form, latex, even polyurethane foam beds).
However, I really want a queen sized bed and I can't seem to find a queen sized futon for some reason. They're mostly sold in twin or full, and the only queen sized futons I see online look super-fluffy and not very firm at all.
Has anyone run into this problem before, and know where I could find a queen-sized futon?

Soaring Heart has some good futons and shikibutons on there, though they're pricey. Their latex, wool and cotton futon option seems like it would definitely be a good choice, too, if that's something you're interested in. White Lotus Home also makes some really good futons/organic mattresses but they are definitely on the higher-end of the price-bracket. Good luck :)

I'm interested in buying a futon that's queen bed sized. I'd like to market my Airbnb as having two queen beds (with clear photos of the futon as a couch, and a photo of it set up as a bed). Any suggestions on what to buy, or any advice? I'd like to stay under $500, while being able to buy a nice futon frame and mucrosuede mattress cover. A store local to me has pretty good quality foam mattresses for $160-$180, which seem like they'd work great for a futon setup, but of course I'm not positive about it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Please Dear, no futons. We all are over our dorm days. I have suffered on a futon myself and would not inflict that kind of suffering on someone else. Unless you just really want to target large groups of 19-year-olds as your intended guests. In that case, the cheaper the better! Don't forget some empty cardboard boxes as side-tables.

My roommate recently moved out and I decided to convert that room into a guest room/reading room. It’s a small space so I’m looking for a futon/folding sofa type thing to put in there. My requirements are that it be less than 80” wide and actually comfortable to sit on AND sleep on. Does such a product exist? Does anyone have a futon they actually like?

It's not the prettiest, but Ikea's Lycksele Lovas is very comfortable. It pulls out as a single piece mattress, so no awkard seams/gaps like you get on the type that fold the back down, and there are enough flat slats that you don't feel them through the mattress as with a lot of other futons of this type. I used it as my bed for 2 summers and had no complaints. It is also very compact, though actually folds out to about the size of a full sized mattress (about 1 inch wider, 1 inch shorter, but full sized sheets work fine).
