Hi! So like most gen z’ers I’m pretty desensitised to just about everything, so would like some really messed up or disturbing movie recommendations! I love psychological horrors/thrillers and found footage and would prefer if the movies are available on UK Netflix or Amazon Prime. Thanks in advance :)
I’ve seen When Evil Lurks, Terrified, Late Night With The Devil, Caveat, Sinister and a few others but there have been my favorite so far. When Evil Lurks has been my favorite so far but I need some more recommendations. Help me out please! Maybe give a small synopsis of the movie as well! I like supernatural movies the most.
Edit: thanks for the reviews! I’m gonna start by watching The Dark and the Wicked and Speak No Evil!
Event Horizon - a rescue crew investigates a space ship that has been missing for seven years
The Descent - a group of friends go cave diving and find out they're not alone down there
Coherence - go into this one blind :)
Get Out - dude goes to meet his girl's family and weird stuff starts happening
Cloverfield - found footage monster movie.
Cooties - a school's students are overcome by a virus. The staff fights for survival.
Hell House LLC - a group of friends open a Haunted house attraction in an abandoned hotel
Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum - The crew of a web-series livestream their venture into a Haunted asylum
Hellraiser - demonic beings are summoned by a puzzle box
Suspiria - weird creepy vibes at a dance institute
The Dark and the Wicked - family gathers at their father's home as he's dying.
Talk to Me - kids, being kids - get a hand that allows you to speak with/invite in the dead.
Totally Killer - this is kind of a kitschy slasher/comedy. Fun.
Knock at the Cabin it looks like is on there - I have not seen the movie, but read the book (Cabin at the End of the World) and I couldn't put it down. It's rough...basically a group of 4 strangers are brought together via various 'visions' and they show up at the vacation home of a gay couple with their young daughter.
Hell House LLC - found footage about a group of people who buy an old building to make a haunted house.
Creep (there is a sequel too) - found footage. iirc a guy places an ad for a documentarian to film him bc he's sick (?) and he wants footage for his kid maybe....anyway, great.
We're All Going to the World's Fair - a sort of online ... ARG sort of game? This is likely a polarizing movie but I loved it. Basically a series of recording between a girl and man online. Both participating in an ARG.
Black Phone - a kid is kidnapped and getting messages on a phone from past kidnapped victims.
The Taking of Deborah Logan - possession movie.
Relic - mother and daughter go back to their matriarch's home bc she went missing - turns back up and seems fine - but...she's really not. This was one of the most recently movies I watched and I quite liked it.
And I don't remember what it's streaming on but you'd likely like The Cleansing Hour as well. About a team of people who livestream 'exorcisms' online.
I watched a Shit Ton of movies recently, and at this point I feel like I've seen every horror movie that's worth watching on all my streaming services. Please tell me I haven't! Here is a list of everything I've seen lately:

ETA Sinners, Smile 1 and 2, and Terrifier 1-3, Red Rooms, Martyrs)
My favorite horror is psychological horror, supernatural, slashers, zombies and infections, comedy horror and splatter but I'm open to all kinds of horror movies except torture and extreme horror.
I'm not very familiar with horror movies, so far I've watched The Witch (wich i absolutely loved, especially the final act) and The Lighthouse (i saw Shin Godzilla being considered one once but it's not scary). i want something that is really horrifying, doesn't have to be jumpscares, but just really scary overall.
Looking for some recommendations
I often use Prime to watch (mostly terrible) horror movies, but I'm keen to root out the treasure among the trash.
Does anyone have any suggestions for movies offered without an additional Shudder subscription or similar that are actually worth watching?
I consider a horror movie to be a worthwhile watching experience if it has one good scene or one interesting idea executed reasonably well, so even if a movie was otherwise pretty bad it's probably worth mentioning!
Edit: Worst rated? Tell me! Poorly directed? I’m interested. Acting is awful? Please tell me more!
Double Edit: I actually enjoy watching them.
Preferably included for free on prime UK, what are some of the best horror films currently available? Whether mainstream or niche, I’m easy. Creepy and good stories to the fore.
I went through 275 pages of movies to create this. I hope someone finds it useful. Please note that I'm in the US so this list may not be as helpful for different countries.
Does anyone have any good horror movie recommendations that is under the "free to me" category?
For the ppl who replied tysm im gonna watch all of them
