Midjourney is the best I've seen of the ones I've used. Using prompts like "photorealistic" or even prompting specific ISO and f.stop apertures can also give specific effects. Check the r/midjourney sub for submissions of work you're looking for. People often don't have a problem sharing the workflow or prompt they used.

As another comment sugested, try InvokeAi and use flux krea dev or wan 2.2 models for realism You also need to have good wording on your prompt (for example, avoid using "realistic image" on your promot, instead use "professional photography" or "budget phone photography" for better results)

I like the new ChatGPT generator but it takes too long to generate images for my purpose. I need something faster but also has the same quality. Google Gemini's Imagen seems to produce only low resolution images... I'm very uneducated in this area and really need advice. Can someone recommend me an engine? For context, I have to generate a lot of images for the B-roll of Instagram reels and TIktoks I record.

This one from OpenArt words pretty well. Pretty easy to make images, videos (B-roll video like you need) and it's relatively cheap.

I'm looking to generate images that resemble realistic photoshoots of myself with AI. Which text-based AI is best? I've been using Midjourney, but it seems that Midjourney will no longer create images that strongly resemble the likeness of specific people that you feed it images of.

Where have you guys had the most success with projects like this?

What do people recommend? I have used Midjourney and debating on asking my company if they'd be willing to pay a monthly subscription so I can more easily populate courses with imagery. Are there better options?

Really depends on the type of image you are looking for. For icons, I am liking Envato's. For other generic stock-images, Google Gemini's Nano Banana is top notch atm imo.

Midjourney is my favorite AI image tool, and the one I usually start with. For photorealistic images that look more realistic and interesting than stock images (or ChatGPT), Midjourney is a solid choice. Midjourney is capable of a wide range of illustration styles, and it's easy to create multiple images that have consistent styles and colors. The editing options are good too. Midjourney is terrible at text though. While I've had lots of success with Midjourney for creating multiple images of a single character, there's no good way to create scenes with multiple characters that stay consistent. For that, I create the images in Midjourney first and then go elsewhere for assembling the scenes. I've had good luck with Runway for assembling scenes with multiple references images. ChatGPT can sometimes work; Gemini (Nano Banana) might work too. Flux is a great tool too. It's as good at Midjourney for photorealistic images and better at text. I don't think it's as good at illustrations as Midjourney though, and I can't get the consistency in characters and style with Flux. Recraft is good for vector images, and you can set specific colors to match your branding. Ideogram is good for text accuracy. They have a new consistent character tool that I haven't tried but looks promising. Personally, I'm only paying for Midjourney as a consistent subscription. It's the most versatile. That's the one that mostly replaces stock images and cutout character libraries that I used to pay for. But, I switch to those other tools sometimes if I need something specific. You might want to look at a tool that gives you access to multiple tools like Galaxy AI or Wavespeed. If your company will only pay for one, you might want to see if one of the collective tools would be better to give you some flexibility.

Like professional headshots for linked in or something?

Is there anyone here generating photorealistic self-portraits on a budget GPU? I’ve got a GTX 1650 (4 GB VRAM), not sure if I'm SOL if I want something locally. I don't mind renting some VM's online (Azure or something) to help, I'm just trying to make simple headshots (think ones you'd use for linked in or something) or just general photos of myself (maybe to test clothes on, hats, etc).

I was hoping Sora 2 would work (like I upload an image of myself and tell it to make a video with tons of headshots) but that doesn't work.

Yeah you can train a Qwen Image lora, or Flux lora as mentioned. Some methods to do this would be on Fal.ai, Replicate, Runpod (using AI Toolkit template for example), or even locally if you have enough compute. I've done this for professional headshots and the results are quite good. Throw in SeedVR tiled upscale for your generated images and it's even better.

Yeah try KREA or Tensor.Art if you want clean realistic renders. They’re good for human models too if you tweak the lighting and clothing prompts right. Depends on what you're looking for. Different models are good at different things, and new models come out frequently. Add onto that the number of hyper-specific LORA's out there, and you should start to see the problem with this question. Are you looking for realistic landscapes? How about great looking boats? Did you mean sail boats, oil tankers, cruise ships, or the boat you take your family out on a few weekends over the summer? There's a guy who made a sail boat LORA for model X and it looks fantastic, but it doesn't work for cruise ships. etc. As a general trend, newer models seem to perform better than older ones, raising the bar for realism when compared 1 to 1 with older models. Problem is, older models with great community support can have LORA's that outperform the newer models. Also, when I say older, I don't mean 5 years old. We're talking maybe 6 months to a year, and there are models coming out that outperform them by a noticeable amount. Realistic is subjective at this point. Most popular models provide passable realism if that's what they're meant to do. The rest is up to you to get better/worse results by playing with the settings and tuning LORA's to your taste.

I've seen reviews of flux dev and SD 1.5. Which is the best model?

I've seen tutorials for flux dev on replicate but not aware how to train SD-1.5 on a serverless API where you're charged only for each API call.

Me personally I would go with: zavychromaxl_b1.safetensors And https://civitai.com/models/353556/c41hasselbladportra400 at a low weight of 0.3-0.5ish For serverless, build your own runpod then deploy. For per-image generation pricing, forget advanced setups. You're stuck with whatever loras they have. Possibly civitAI you could do per image pricing I am really not sure, maybe you need to train your face using their LORA-training regiment I don't know

Not sure what you mean by serverless API, but I assume you mean using some kind of online service? What you're best doing is training a Lora using your own images on something like CivitAI, then using that lora with Flux dev on the same service. Alternatively you could use something like RunPod but I believe that costs a little more. There are quite a few tutorials on Youtube.

I’m still lost at how to do this consistently. I’m currently using Leonardo ai and have about 150 images out of around 7k generations that have been good enough. I’ve tried my own prompts, uploading images to chatgpt to create the prompt, uploading images to Leonardo for prompting, image2image, and it’s still messing up a lot of these. I now use the image upload to prompt creation and then try to use the ai to fine tune it from there but it still will use a ton of credits and generations to get what I want. So now I’m looking for help with other ai image generators that are better than Leonardo, or just keep trying to get better at prompting. It gets frustrating bc I’ve found the ai for images has zero common sense. I’ll think I have it and it adds extra hands for something or if I say mixing a glass of water, it decides to make the spoon a foot long lol or add in another glass on the counter. Or have one glass and a water bottle… why? lol it’s very frustrating especially bc it’s supposed to be realistic and majority of the time it’s painfully ai looking. Any help is very much appreciated!

Personally, I don't think there's anything better for photorealism than using local tools on your own machine such as ComfyUI or Forge with AI models from Flux or Stable Diffusion. That will give you the ultimate control over how much photorealism you want. For best results you will need a Windows machine with a good graphics card, ie 8-24GB VRAM. The tools can be a little daunting at first but there's plenty of great YouTube tutorials that will get you going quickly. Please look at some of my images to see the kind of photorealism that's possible using local tools.

Use flux, which is that latest and most capable free/open weight model. Go to civitai.com and look at other people's images. I ended up trying an app called https://apps.apple.com/in/app/magic-erase-background-remover/id6739823082. It actually surprised me , the object removal and AI photo editing looked way more natural than what I got from ChatGPT. It keeps the original colors/textures really well, and small imperfections disappear without that smudgy “AI blur” effect.

I use Magic Erase on iOS for quick product cleanup and it’s been super reliable. Looks natural almost every time.

I would suggest you Pykaso AI image editor tool. Simple to use just upload image and text AI what exactly do you want to edit there. for example i wanted to change lightning of picture where face was too dark and not very well visible. result was pretty decent. if you want i can show it to you.
