April 16, 2025Best first cars under $20k? Has to be reliable and not too too old.
My personal preference out of those is the Civic Hatch. Great gas mileage, Adaptive cruise and lane keep are standard, hatch back is incredibly versatile. Acura and Accord will both be similar to each other. Both are large. The Civic feels more nimble, stiffer suspension, etc. You feel more. The Acura and Accord will feel more cushioned with lots of room. Acura will have the nicest interior of the bunch, but their infotainment can seem very outdated. I’d lean more towards the Civic or accord, assuming they have CarPlay which makes the software experience so much better. I don’t have experience with Mazda so I can’t say much but I’ve heard fantastic things about them. Maybe they’d be the best option, but I wouldn’t know. Edit: is that an Acura ILX? If so it is closer to the Civic in size than the accord More on reddit.com
