Bought a graphics card and motherboard off someone that was originally from the Levono Legion Tower 7i. The mobo didn’t come with an IO shield so now my pc literally just has an open gap in the back. Am I able to buy an IO shield anywhere?

Usually you could reach out to the manufacturer with mixed success, but I doubt Lenovo could be bothered. Your best bet is to get the seller to send it, or just deal with it. It's on the back so you wouldn't really even see it unless you've got a floating desk.

I recently moved country and just rebuilt my PC. Unfortunately in the move I lost my motherboard IO.
My PC is currently up and running but ID rather have a replacement shield installed
Does anyone know where I could buy a replacement online? as I'm finding it difficult to find one.
Actions I have already taken:

I contacted ASrock global customer support, they shipped me a replacement from the Netherlands.
Price was 15 euro including shipping

I recently bought an ASUS crosshair VII Hero motherboard for my first gaming pc build. I noticed it didn't come with an io shield (if it did I have no idea where it's located) and was wondering if this particular mobo doesn't come with an io shield? I know the importance of an io shield and don't want to statically discharge my pc. The motherboard was bought brand new of amazon and I'm not sure if I should get it replaced. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Higher end motherboards have the io shields built into them your crosshair VII Hero is the most expensive X470 board that asus makes, their X470 prime still has a seperate io shield

Check the manual - most manuals contain a list of what's included in the package. If your IO shield is missing, contact the retailer. Failing that, contact Asus support.

March 19, 2022 - If your cutouts line up well with the motherboard ports, simply the motherboard pushing it against the case will keep it in place... or if the board has VGA, serial, or parallel ports, add holes and use the hex nuts on those ports to secure the IO shield onto the board this way (kind of like how some Dell motherboards come with their own non-removable shields attached to the motherboard.)

This motherboard does not come with a separate IO shield. The IO shield is already attached to the motherboard. Rather than the typical separate IO shield that you would first attached to
the back of the PC, before mounting the motherboard in the PC case.

Yes, This and all motherboards come with an I/O shield that can either be in the box or pre-applied, due to them needing to be an exact fit for every different motherboard. Im sorry that I am a year and 4 months late...

Besides keeping debris out the most important function of the IO shield is isolating the ports from static. If you plug in a cable that has a static charge built up the charge is directed through the case.Without the IO shield, the charge would go directly into the port and could cause damage. You can do without it but be very careful when connecting/disconnecting peripherals and touch the connector to something grounded before you plug it in.

I got a used b550m phantom gaming 4 but comes without the IO shield, for the moment I will replace it with a plastic one from Amazon (the one where you can cut the holes based on the position of the plugs) and Later I should receive a metallic one from AliExpress. Is it safe to use without IO/shield ? I let all the cables plugged in the back and use the front I/O of the case for the temporary usb drives.

The I/o shield is mainly there to keep the inside relatively free of dust and stuff. The inside will be dirtier more than normal without the shield. Just make sure to clean it/blow air more frequently.

I haven’t in years, a used motherboard I bought didn’t have it. Than didn’t bother for the new one in the rebuild as I can never seem to get the clips around the plugs in just right and sometimes a usb connector would get hanged up on there so I decided to not even bother this time e around. It’s flat out user error on my part, and it’s not worth the effort to make something look pretty no one will see.

Hey guys, I just received my ROG strix z370-e from Newegg. It was open box. I received the motherboard today and started installing the components into it. Just as I was going to install it within the case I realized I never installed the IO shield. I’ve looked in the box and in all the components that it came with and there is no IO shield to be found. Open-box products are sold as-is, so probably nothing you can do. Maybe you can contact Asus support and they might send you one. In the mean time, there's really no particular need to have an I/O shield anyways besides looking a little nicer.
