I’ve had these in two of my previous homes. They are great- I really liked them. Very resilient, resistant to chemicals, oil, etc. Easy to clean up. As long as your garage is sloped, any water that gets underneath would drain out. I would not recommend it if your garage is not sloped. Water would accumulate and get moldy. When you wash the car or hose it off or clean with a pressure washer. Some issues: Floor expands quite a bit with direct sunlight and can bunch up if it is tight against the walls - I leave a gap at the edges and cover with cove base so it has room to move. It can also creep a bit when you are jacking up a car really high, but goes back to normal once you drop it. Obviously, not a good idea to burn or cut things on top of it. I used to have the checked pattern and the white tiles show dirt more easily especially with salt in the winter. I would suggest the darker ones.

I would go with grated/drainage style tiles over these all day. Like SwissTrax or if you want to cheap out you can get the Vevor brand on eBay. Lots of posts on this sub and YT about those.

It is much better than bare concrete which is dusty, so I would do it even if you plan to RaceDeck the garage. Again, I wish I went the pro route but I’m too cheap now. ... I am on the fence now with our showroom, we did it in gloss black and it is very difficult to keep clean and my photos don't come out as nice as the back area done in a light grey (nearly white). When I figure out the name of the place again I will post it. We (3 of us) prepped a 6000 SF space in a weekend and coated it the next. So a basic garage should not be too hard.

Moving into my newly built house in a few days and opted out from the epoxy garage from the builder for $2k because at the time I thought it was way too much. I’ve been looking at kits and most of them have very mixed reviews. I’m considering just doing garage tiles as it would be cheaper and much easier/less time consuming. I mostly do woodworking stuff in my garage, the occasional oil change. What do you guys think with epoxy vs garage tiles? I’ve been looking at motor deck from Home Depot

Can’t give you any advice but I wish my builder did epoxy. I don’t know anything about garage tiles. How’s the durability on them? I’m always concerned about epoxy cracking or getting damaged.

I moved into new house 1.5 years ago. Used tiles from Costco ( https://www.costco.com/motofloor-modular-garage-flooring-tiles-48-square-feet-per-box-1'-x-1'-tiles.product.100009181.html ), of course, it cost less at that time and were on sale as well. To cover entire garage floor cost me around $700(including additionally purchased snap-on entrance edges). It took less than 1.5 hrs. complete the work. Have not a single issue since, looks great. However, you mentioned woodwork - not sure what would happens when dust may sneak in between tiles seams, but, I think, you should be able to blast it off with a water.

January 24, 2005 - I installed it about 2 years ago. I went with the black and white and am really pleased. The bottom of the tiles have a cross pattern that provides some air space between the tile and the floor ( it does not lay flat on the concrete).
