I think carbon fiber since it's stronger and leather is prone to water damage, although I feel like leather would age better that carbon fiber if taken care of properly. Answer from TomatilloMammoth3158 on reddit.com

December 3, 2019 - Many of the reviews I’ve read seem to have the same problem. The backing leather/material tends to wear too fast and is considered normal wear which Mous doesn’t cover under warranty. It’s the reason why I decided against it. Maybe check out the Nomad cases?

Not really sure why I’m sharing this, but I’m a little bummed about spending $50 on a premium case that is not really that great. The materials and design touches don’t feel special, in fact I’d say it’s less comfortable since the side material is so hard and not grippy.

I’ll probably be sending it back. Which sucks, because it looks badass. But how often am I looking at the back of my phone anyway?

May 27, 2021 - When it arrived it looked pretty much as expected, but after 2-3 hours watching Netflix i put the phone down to go take a shower and noticed that the leather back had just come loose. I was shocked as i had just had it in my hand and didn’t drop it or anything. So now i have sent a warranty claim and now im guessing I have to go without a case until the middle of January. 😐 ... I literally put my new Mous Limitless 4 case on my 13 Pro Max 15 minutes before reading this.

June 30, 2022 - Mous cases are definitely better at protecting phones but they aren’t indestructible like people think. ... Wow Exact same thing happend to me, same place. It fell like 50 cm. Might be a design flaw. ... Meanwhile I've accidentally sent my 13PM with only an apple leather case flying 15ft across a room and landing on stone flooring with not even a scratch to the device itself.

r/GooglePixel on Reddit: Cover Review : Mous Walnut Limitless 3.0, Bellroy Leather Case, Caseology Cover Vault
December 31, 2021 -

Hey guys, I've been having a great experience with my Pixel 6 Pro and since it's my first true flagship phone I finally have access to a range of covers and accessories like I never did before.

So throughout the months I have been purchasing these covers and since today I have received the Mous Limitless 3.0 I thought I could put a little review here for you guys that might be thinking about purchasing any of these, or if you just want a tip on some good covers.

Photo of covers

Caseology Cover Vault:

This was the very first cover I bought, I was looking for something with a nice, interesting design, while also having a flexible material and cheap price.

I have been really happy with this cover, the buttons are incredibly tactile and satisfying to click, the back has a bit of a texture to it which makes the phone grippy and nice to the touch. The design protects the camera bar completely, in the front the screen is protected by raised edges so that it never really touches the surface if it's placed face down.

The inside of the cover has a cool design but that doesn't really matter since you are not really seeing it ever while using it. It doesn't have anything to it that would make the contact with the phone softer or anything, it's just a cool design.

If I had to find a flaw to this cover I would say that the lateral edges are a bit too high making swiping from the left or right side a bit annoying at times but it never was that much of a problem really. Also the color is a bit boring, you can see from the other two covers that I try to go for something a bit more extravagant but it's fine to tone it down from time to time so this isn't really a flaw, only a design choice.

Overall, a great cover if you just want to wrap your phone and protect it a bit, while also making it more grippy and having a nice design still.

The price was 13/14€ if I'm not mistaken.

Bellroy Leather Case:

I love the feel of leather and also I was looking for a cover with a cool color, so this was quite a no brainer. The photos definitely don't do justice to this cover at all, it's a lot more colorful in real life, not to the point you will see on the Bellroy site but still quite a vibrant blue. The camera bar is a bit more exposed with this one but it's still pretty protected thanks to the little bumpers that guarantee that there will always be a gap between the surface and your camera when laying on a surface.

The inside of the cover has a little bit of a softer surface that would make the contact with the phone less prone to damage, and also makes it feel a little bit more premium I guess.

The only flaw I gotta mention is that the power button is not as clicky as I would have hoped, I would actually go as far as saying that I found it a bit stiff at times, the volume buttons are perfect but the power button can be a bit hard to click at times. It's not like you are gonna need to be Hercules to do it, but still. Definitely could feel the difference when I switched from the Caseology Cover Vault to this, I can tell you that.

The front borders are better than the Caseology thought, you definitely feel them a lot less while using the phone and swiping left or right.

Overall, this is a much more stylish cover and it definitely blends beautifully with the design of the phone, but it's pricey. 50€ might be a bit too much for a cover that it's just pretty.

If you love the feel of leather, the range of colors the cover is available in and the design, then go for it, you won't regret it, otherwise I would suggest other covers.

Mous Walnut Limitless 3.0:

This last cover is one I've been waiting for. I LOVE wooden cases, I had a bamboo cover back on my OnePlus One and got a wooden case for my OnePlus 3T as well (might have been walnut that one too but don't really remember actually).

So this being a cover with a wooden back had me already interested, pair that with the sturdy technology of Mous that guarantees extra fall protection and additional features such as slots to keep extra sim cards and a magnetic back that makes the phone compatible with a range of accessories...I had to buy this.

I can say, I'm incredibly happy with my purchase, I love the design of the cover, it's a bit more thick which means that the camera bar is completely encased in the cover, so the phone will lay completely flat when you leave it on a table which, to me, is a bonus.

The front has raised top and bottom edges which means that the screen doesn't touch the surface while laying face down, but the lateral edges are not raised and actually beautifully blend with the sides of the screen so they don't get in the way at all while swiping from the sides.

The volume and power buttons are satisfying and clicky, just as good as the Caseology Cover Vault if not a tiny bit better.

Finally the back has "AutoAlign+" technology, which is their proprietary brand for magnetic back, this means that you will be able to use an array of magnetic accessories with this cover such as QI chargers, magnetic wall mounts or car mounts ecc.

I don't actually know if it works with MagSafe accessories too and I don't really care since I don't plan on buying any, but on their site they have a range of accessories that seem pretty cool that are designed to go with this, I bought a magnetic car mount and it feels incredibly sturdy, also it's easy to use since the phone easily clips to it.

This cover will actually costs a bit more than the Bellroy cover by itself, it should be 59€, but I was able to save a bit because they apply a bundle discount if you buy other items with it and also there was a sale that brought the price down to around 44€ for me which feels like quite a good deal for all that it offers.

If I had to find a flaw I would say that if you like the thickness of your phone without a cover and wouldn't like having it thicker, this isn't the cover for you, as it will make your phone much much thicker.

Other than that, the great design, protection and added functionality are a big deal to me, which is why I bought it lol.

With that I guess I'm finished, I hope this was helpful or informative enough for those who read this and if you have any other questions I will gladly reply in the comments, thank you for reading :)

August 24, 2024 - Just feels a bit cheap to me but overall a great case · Mous limitless 5.0 leather Currently using this one and think I will keep this one and return the others, it's way more expensive that's for sure but the buttons feel amazing, protection is very solid and the case is really tight, the look and feel is premium with a price tag ofc.

r/Mous on Reddit: Are Mous cases still high quality?
September 22, 2025 -

Hey everyone,

After many years of hearing about Mous cases but never trying one, I finally ordered a Limitless 7.0 for my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I watched a few positive YouTube reviews and the official video, which really made me feel like they were top quality.

However, after coming to this subreddit (where I honestly expected mostly positive feedback), I’ve been reading a lot of negative comments. Some people say the quality has been declining, that Mous reduced some of the protective materials to cut costs, others showed defective units in photos, etc. This has left me a bit worried—especially considering the price, since I thought I was paying for one of the best-quality cases out there.

The other case I was considering is the Dbrand Grip. Maybe I should have gone for that one instead? Would love to hear your honest opinions and recent experiences.

For context: right now I’m using a Pitaka case, which I love because it’s super thin, but this time I wanted something with a bit more protection (not super bulky though), especially since I now have a young daughter who sometimes drops my phone.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

January 27, 2022 - I had a similar experience. They make it seem indestructible in their videos, so I thought the case was doing a good job until I took it off to trade in my phone and saw the back glass actually got all smashed up. My opinion of their case completely changed, I even had another one already ordered for the new phone, which I’ll now be returning..
