I absolutely love the old school vibe of the Manor Theater (Squirrel Hill) and Harris Theater (downtown). That said, and I feel bad about this, but ever since the big chains started getting the indie movies about five years ago, I started frequenting them more because of how comfy the reclining seats are. I know it doesn’t have anything to do with the movie itself, but there was definitely a nice feeling for me seeing a flick at the Manor, Harris, or Regent Square (RIP). Row House Cinema in Lawrenceville is cool too with a bottle shop and bar downstairs. They screen a lot of already released films they think deserve to be seen on the big screen, whether the movie came out in 1952 or 2022. Also screen new movies but they seem to be a few weeks/months behind. FYI, there is an excellent animated movie called “Flow” that is playing at the Harris. No dialogue, but it’s a visually gorgeous film about a cat and the animals it meets as it tries to survive a flood that wipes out humanity. Would recommend if you’re open minded. More on reddit.com

OK, I HATE all the seemingly engagement-bait requests here, but now I have to do it too.
I want to see Dune 2, but the AMC "Classic" theaters in the area are all garbage. I did Barbenheimer last summer in Mt Lebo, and what a waste of an experience. Awful picture, awful sound. I've also been to AMC South Hills Village and that sucks too.
I love Manor Theater for indie stuff that doesn't require the best picture, but hate that they never turn the overhead floods fully off, so it always feels like I'm under a spotlight, even at their dimmest.
I have not been to AMC Waterfront, and I see they have IMAX and standard, so I'll probably do IMAX.
Any feedback on CHARTIERS VALLEY LUXURY in Bridgeville? (I'm browsing Fandango.)

I love Manor Theater for indie stuff that doesn't require the best picture, but hate that they never turn the overhead floods fully off, so it always feels like I'm under a spotlight, even at their dimmest. The Manor would be nice if you weren't forced to listen the bass from the theaters surrounding the one you're in. It was so annoying during Maestro recently. Why couldn't Ricky Stern have sprung for better sound insulation? Grrrr.
