r/computerforensics on Reddit: 3rd party app to read MS Teams?
September 24, 2022 -

Anyone know of a third party application that can view MS Teams chat? I have a handful of drive images and can see remnants from an .ldb file in the user profile (found during keyword search using Encase).

I've had some success using Axiom, but was wondering if there's another tool available.

I do not have access to any cloud repositories, so I'm sure I'll only see temp or cache leftovers, but anything helps.

r/MicrosoftTeams on Reddit: Is there a third party client for Teams?
October 8, 2024 -

I have used Teams V1, V2 on Windows, Mac, Linux, every time on more than capable machines, ryzen 5 5600, 16gb ram, rtx 3090, SSD NVME, MacBook Pro M3 Pro chip (18gb ram)
and it always has been garbage, why is it so slow? So HEAVY? So bad UI/UX side?
Discord has better audio, video, screen recording and weighs a fraction of Teams, there MUST be a better way to implement the basic things Teams offers.
Why does it take back to the main folder when closing a doc?

Why does it hog so much memory??? Even when not in a call, just displaying documents or even idling????

And if I'm doing something wrong it sure is on the unintuitive UX, since I am not a genius by any means but very tech savvy (also attending computer engineering so there's that).
Is there a Third party client?
Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first, nor second, language.

r/MicrosoftTeams on Reddit: Disable or block MS Teams 3rd party apps
March 7, 2024 -

With Teams admin 'permission policies' being removed and replaced with 'app-centric management', I'm unable to confirm the best way to block all current and new 3rd party teams apps, but to then whitelist specific ones after. I can't get the 'org wide app setting' to 'disable 3rd party apps' past change control as we cannot confirm who is using what app due to reporting. I haven't done the leg work yet but thinking of using powershell to create commands to block apps by name and use the app export list to compile the ps commands.

I haven't used the permissions policies but from what I gather they would have the ability to do the above. I now feel I'm stuck looking at a list of 2500+ apps that will need individually blocked.
