Chronically dysfunctional windows store 0x80248014
Hi u/lemonhaj , thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp ! If your post is listed as pending moderation, try to include as much of the following information as possible (in text or in a screenshot) to improve the likelihood of approval: Your Windows and device specifications — You can find them by pressing Win + X then clicking on “System” Any messages and error codes encountered — They're actually not gibberish or anything catastrophic. It may even hint the solution! Previous troubleshooting steps — It might prevent you headaches from getting the same solution that didn't work As a reminder, we would also like to say that if someone manages to solve your issue, DON'T DELETE YOUR POST! Someone else (in the future) might have the same issue as you, and the received support may also help their case. Good luck, and I hope you have a nice day! What's the advantage of the Microsoft Store compared to normal Programs?
I'd try to keep all my apps updated through the Store or the package manager. It's convenient, safe, easy to maintain and update. There will surely be apps that will require additional installers, but I like the idea of using one source for everything. I've been on Fedora for a few months and the idea of a one reliable, safe source for most of my apps is pretty great. The updates happen in one place and you have control over what everything is trying to do. You don't have to deal with manually updating every package and app. More on reddit.com

r/WindowsHelp on Reddit: You'll need a new app to open this ms-windows-store link
November 16, 2022 -

I just recently reset my computer completely, but now I have no Microsoft Store. I have tried near enough all the "fixes" on reddit, I've been trying to install all the windows updates but now I'm currently stuck on one, it asks for a restart for the update, I restart, but nothing seems to have changed, and yet again it asks for a restart to apply the update.

Any idea? Thanks.

*FIXED* I have finally found something that fixed it for me, very simple as well. Firstly download the xbox app, once downloaded run it as administrator and wait until it's fully installed. Log into a microsoft account, once done, you will get something at the bottom saying "This app needs a few things that are missing on this PC." Press "Fix them in settings", and you can install all the dependencies from there. Hope this helps people out.

Hi u/4orsaken , thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp ! Don't worry, your post has not been removed. To let us help you better, try to include as much of the following information as possible! Posts with insufficient details might be removed at the moderator's discretion. Model of your computer - For example: "HP Spectre X360 14-EA0023DX" Your Windows and device specifications - You can find them by going to go to Settings > "System" > "About" What troubleshooting steps you have performed - Even sharing little things you tried (like rebooting) can help us find a better solution! Any error messages you have encountered - Those long error codes are not gibberish to us! Any screenshots or logs of the issue - You can upload screenshots other useful information in your post or comment, and use Pastebin for text (such as logs). You can learn how to take screenshots here . All posts must be help/support related. If everything is working without issue, then this probably is not the subreddit for you, so you should also post on a discussion focused subreddit like r/Windows . Hello YvesB,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I understand you have a problem with Microsoft store.

**Check your Antivirus might be interfering with the Store, Try to disable it first.

**Make sure Windows has the latest update

Select Start , then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates

**Check your time and location settings

Select Start , then select Settings > Time & Language. Select Date & time to verify your time settings and select Region to check your location. These settings need to show your current location and time zone.

**Check the Microsoft Store Install Service

Press the Windows Key + S and type in services.msc.

Find the Microsoft Store Install Service and double=click,

If Disabled, change it to Automatic, click Start and click OK.

**Run the troubleshooter:

Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

**Reset the Microsoft Store cache

Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

Note

A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

**Reset the Microsoft Store app in Windows 10

Open Settings.

Go to Apps -> Apps & features.

On the right side, look for Microsoft Store and click it.

The advanced options link will appear. Click it.

On the next page, click on the Reset button to reset Microsoft Store to default settings

Uninstall the Store:

Press Windows key + X

Click and Run Windows PowerShell as Administrator

type: get-appxpackage -alluser Microsoft.WindowsStore

then take note the PackageFullName (we need it later)

Now Type: remove-appxpackage PackageFullName(you take note earlier)

Enter then proceed to reinstall Store

Reinstall the Store:

Press Windows key + X

Click and Run Windows PowerShell as Administrator

At the command prompt, copy-paste the following then hit Enter:

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Launch again your MS Store

If it doesn't work, Please try to create a new administrator account then check if Microsoft is working there. Note: You may try to install microsoft there using the Powershell commands.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402692...

If still doesn't work, Please try to Perform a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade. It will definitely help in resolving update errors. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while preserving your personal files, settings and installed applications. The in-place upgrade will also bring you the latest Windows update.

**Few things to check on the PC

Ensure you are signed in or have administrator rights to do a repair install

Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting

Disable or uninstall any 3rd party Anti-Virus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

Please NOTE: You don't need to follow the instructions to turn off Secure Boot

Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further concerns.

Sincerely

Hi John,

I finally succeeded reinsyalling MS Store.

I just realised I was wrongfully using the PackageFullName command in the PowerShell.

Since I used the correct syntax, it works well. It was just a matter of correctly uninstallig and reinstalling the Store.

Thanks,
