I just bought a new pc and and was following some tutorials to get it set up for installing windows. I was recommended to download a BIOS update. I did this and flashed from USB, it got to 95% and stayed stuck that way for hours before I found a post saying to turn off pc and try again. Now it won’t boot to BIOS and I don’t know what to do about a corrupted BIOS. I can’t afford any major fixes either. Can someone please help me with this? Cheers
So whenever I try to update my bios( I have the files for my motherboard) I click MFLASH go into the tab and select the choose file to update bios but then the screen goes slightly gray but nothing shows up. I’m using a USB 2.0 for my bios upgrade I’m changing from Ryzen 3 3100 to Ryzen 5 5600X My motherboard is an A320M-A PRO.
For some reason it’s stuck at 57 degrees and the ez debug lights for vga and boot are on. It’s been like this for 10min. I also only did this update because I was having problems with my cpu temps and solved the thermal and pump issues.
I can't seem to be able to get into bios or boot setup either.
Hi, I have a MPG B550 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C56) which I cannot get to take a bios update. I suspect this is because it is a prebuilt computer, and they have their own version of bios. I am trying to update bios because I have bought a new CPU, an AMD Ryzen 7 5700x3D.
Let me preface this by saying I have never messed around in bios before. There is a reason I have a prebuilt. Haha.
The current version of BIOS I am on is listed as E7C56AKB.1K5 I have tried updating the bios normally - downloading latest not in beta version for my specific motherboard, extracting and placing the file in the root directory of a 32gb USB newly formatted to FAT32. I have tried using the flash bios usb port on the motherboard, and multiple other usb ports. I tried using the bios flash button on the motherboard. I have also tried using rufus to format usb to FAT32, non-bootable. Renaming the update file to MSI.ROM did not work either.
When trying to use forum UEFI Shell flash tool - which seems to be my only option that I have found - it gives me the message «source files missing»
I have sent an email to the company that made my pc (komplett.no) but I am afraid they will take multiple days to answer and I would like this fixed sooner than later.
Is there any way to get the latest update for my board, or force the board to use a normal msi bios? Why won’t uefi flash tool work? Is it a usb issue, mobo issue, or windows issue? And I want to be sure this will work with the new cpu (ryzen7 5700x3D) please.
Thanks for any help. Pictures of bios and what m-flash shows when the bios file is in root directory of usb.
Hi everyone, I recently bought a used GF66 Katana and tried to update the BIOS. I downloaded the file from the MSI website, loaded it onto a USB drive and launched the update from the BIOS. Everything seemed to go smoothly, but after the BIOS flash completed the laptop turned off and the power button started blinking rapidly. I waited more than 20 minutes but nothing changed, so I tried holding the power button for 30 seconds, and pressed the reset button with a pin for 30 seconds — but nothing worked. Right now, if I unplug the charger the button stops blinking, then when I plug it back in it blinks slowly at first and then goes back to blinking fast like before. I really don't know what to think — what could have happened? And most importantly, how do I get out of this?
