Hello so I read the manual for my motherboard for my x670e carbon but on my motherboard after using it for about an hour I see code ranging from 39-66 but I don't see any numbers matching that in the manual what what it means?
Edit: does the debug code ever stop or is it always supposed to switch numbers constantly?
I've built the PC I previously posted about and while it turns on, it isn't posting. My MSI mobo has these indicator lights that are intended to show if hardware is broken or undetected, and when I power up, the DRAM LED lights solid for a few seconds.
Does this mean that my RAM is bad? What's a good way to determine that?
The motherboard documentation will tell you what every LED means.
What color does the DRAM LED flash? Generally red = bad, green = good.
If it turns on but then turns off, it's not that LED's component.
The way the debug LEDs work is they turn on when the POST is testing that component. If they stay on, that's an issue.
I'm working on my first build, which uses the MSI Z170A PC Mate motherboard (full parts list).
I've been breadboarding the system (although I don't have a motherboard speaker) just to make sure that everything is working fine. I've been relying on the motherboard's EZ Debug lights to check that things are working fine, but I'm not sure if I'm reading them correctly.
There are three separate lights, CPU, DRAM, and VGA. The manual says that if one lights up, it indicates that it was not detected or it failed.
However, I'm not sure if the LEDs are meant to stay lit -- when I boot the system (still without a graphics card installed), the DRAM LED lights up for about half a second or so, then shuts off. Then the VGA LED lights up and stays on until the system is shut down.
Does that mean that there's a problem with the RAM? Or is it just part of the system booting up, and it takes a few seconds for the RAM to be detected?
I've tried Googling this but I can't find anything about temporarily-lit LEDs. Can anyone with experience tell me in greater detail how the EZ Debug LEDs function?
Thanks.
Edit: I should mention that I've double checked that the sticks are installed in the right slots, although I've yet to try sticking them in the other slots. I also don't have any other sticks of RAM lying around to test, sadly.
Hello,
one of my relatives have an issue with his pc with MEG X570 ACE.
The desktop was working fine, suddenly, while doing his job, the screen lost the sync with the pc and never came back.
After rebooting the desktop the debugging display showed all those codes 42, 41, 40, 39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, and more, in loop and without posting.
What happened?
