It's not that old BIOS wise, only about 7 months. Looks like there's 1 other full release over your version along with a beta version.
TBH unless there's something not working how you want or there's a feature addition/bugfix that you need then why mess with it. If you want to update however make sure to do it through the BIOS itself and not through MSI/Dragon center, doing it through windows with those is just asking for trouble.

PCI Express 4.0 is backward compatible with PCI Express 3.0 but if you get this board make sure you power supply is compatible with this motherboard. I replaced mine with a Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold because the one I used on my FX 990 board didn't have all the extra power connectors.

Not really sure if its worthy to go for it just because better vrm and dac. Atleast according to the msi websites, could not find anything else better.
