I bought a new MSI MEG x570 unify mainboard from Amazon.de and it is working properly most of the time but has one major issue:
When I turn on my pc after being away a few hours it displays the debug code "00", most fans of the system start spinning at a fixed rate and the LED of my GPU turns on but there is no video output.
I found two methods that work to help getting the motherboard back to normal:
-
Clearing CMOS will make it possible to boot on the pc afterwards but you will lose all personalized settings you did in the BIOS, ex. PWM Fans and RAM frequency settings.
-
Turning the power supply unit off and back on while the pc is turned on will make it possible to boot the pc normally and no settings are lost.
These two solutions are useful in the meantime but I don't want to do this on the long term so I am still searching the underlying cause of this error. I will be thankful if somebody has a suggestion on how to fix this problem.
I already tried to solve this by flashing the latest non-beta version of the motherboard BIOS (Version 7C35vA3), I also installed the Drivers from the Support website of the mainboard but it did not solve my problem.
August 2020 update: I did multiple bios updates (currently A5) but it still happens sometimes...

So I start up my PC which has been running fine for the last couple months. This time however there's no signal output going to the monitors and the debug code 00 on the mobo. No matter what I seem to try, I just can't get it displaying anything. Anyone know what this is about?
AMD 5950x. Error Code 00. Screen goes black, fans run high, the only way is to power down.
I've build this system about 5 months ago. About three weeks ago i started getting sudden black screen crashes, with all the fans running high, and the only way was to power down the PC and turn it on again.
The computer suddenly halts with the screen going black, the fans run loud and the motherboard shows Error Code 00.
The issue occurs in the browsers, specially opening YouTube tabs as well as in a specific game called Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor, It occurs randomly.
During the occurrence, both GPU and CPU are maintaining normal temperatures.
The only way to recover is to turn the power button off and on again.
Windows does not show BSOD, there is no trace of anything other than a sudden power shutdown in Even Viewer.
Tests performed to diagnose:
-Tested each ram individually, the issue still occurs.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled dragon center
- Updated LED fimware
- Updated amd chipset driver to latest
the issue still occurs
-Checked windows update, Everything is up to date
the issue still occurs
-Updated to latest BIOS version as suggested by MSI support call.
the issue still occurs
-Tested with two different GPUs to rule out GPU. EVGA GTX 770 GPU and Zotac RTX 2080 Ti
the issue still occurs
- Tested with both Corsair AX860i PSU as well as MSI A850F PSU
the issue still occurs
- Moved the game from M.2 to a harddisk and ran it from there
the issue still occurs
NOTE: The issue did NOT occur when i tested an AMD 5800x cpu.
NOTE 2: I RMAed the CPU, received a brand new CPU today and the issue occurs again!!
So my only doubt now is the motherboard matching with 5950x, somehow is causing this.
When I contacted MSI support, they said because there are no issue when using 5800x CPU then this cannot be a motherboard issue and possibly another defective CPU that came out of RMA.
I contact AMD, again, and they responded:
" The processors that are shipped to the customers are pre-tested. Its very unlikely that the replacement processor is faulty. "
So, the only thing I haven't tried replacing and testing is the motherboard.
I'm getting really desperate here, both companies are pushing back leaving me in limbo, This is my first AMD system and I already regret it significantly due to such peculiar issue.
I'm hoping that by posting this publicly I can get some traction and someone from MSI would help out with a solution.
Thanks.
