Hello, over this past year I've had issues with Best Buy logging me out and forceing me to reset my password. It does it on bestbuy.com as well as the mobile best buy app. I don't know what it causing this but sometimes its back to back in the same day. I am getting the error message of my password and email do not match. I know that is not accurate as I'm using a passkey. Not a password. Is there anyone from best buy who can tell me why the system on the back end is not functioning properly? I have already reached out to some of my colleagues and worked with cx service in hopes they could give technical support. Best Buy is the ONLY company I work with that forces reset for passwords customer side every 2 months and forces passkey changes at the same rate. I never receive emails about passwords or passkeys being changed till after I initiate it and there has been no suspicious activity on my account.
Update:
In the last hour, MS Edge now works again for me when logging into bestbuy.com and Costco.com.
MS Edge continues to show same MS Edge Build Version 109.0.1518.61 (Official build) (64-bit).
Problem gone - I have no clue as to what the issue was.
Previous Post:
Beginning today, I am no longer able to log in into my accounts at bestbuy.com and Costco.com
I have MS Edge Build Version 109.0.1518.61 (Official build) (64-bit)
I am not logged into any profile in MS Edge.
Bestbuy.com says: Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again.
Costco.com does not respond (no error message or anything) when I hit the submit log in password.
I tried to fix the problem, but none of these helped:
Clear MS Edge cache, cookies, everything
Reset MS Edge
Repair/redownload MS Edge
Close and Open MS Edge multiple times
I have no problem logging into bestbuy.com or Costco.com using firefox or using Android google chrome.
I have no problem logging into reddit using MS Edge.
Because this appears to be MS Edge problem, rather than a website problem, I plan to continue to use Firefox until there is a fix.
I received an email that a purchase had been made from my Best Buy account today. When I logged in to my BestBuy account, I saw there was in fact a purchase for a $2k Macbook and it was picked up by someone today at the store.
.
The credit card used had my name on it, but it was not one of my credit cards and it had a different address than mine.
.
The purchase shows a name for the person that picked up the order, along with a phone number and email address (Who knows if the info is real though). Doesn't Best Buy require you show an ID when picking up an order?
.
I froze my credit and filed an FTC report. Police said they can't do anything until I show money was used from my account or my credit report shows a fraudulent account/charge.
.
Nothing has shown up on my credit reporting yet. Is it because it takes many days / weeks for a new account or charges to show up on the credit report?
.
Any ideas on what happened? Did someone open a credit card in my name and access my Best Buy account to make the purchase (or vice versa)?
